From white2tea

The Brown Sugar blend has continued to evolve from its first version five years ago.

The 2020 Brown Sugar is a total departure from its predecessors. Heavier than ever before on non-huangpian tea and blended from entirely small batch material from several batches, this blend is thick, rich and enduring. Sweet throughout with an engaging set of flavors and aromas reminiscent of molasses. All around excellent tea for beginners and veterans alike.

Each brick is 200 grams of tea.

An okay tea that is aptly named. Some good sweetness from the get-go and nice brown sugar flavor, but doesn’t compare to Cream for me.

Main issue for me is one of complexity. I get some brown sugar and maybe a bit of molasses, but that’s it. Mouthfeel is flat. Aftertaste is minimal to absent. Longevity is similarly disappointing. Even with boiling water and longer infusion intervals (+ 10-15 s), it went weak pretty quickly.

Ultimately, a long ways from cakeworthy.

Gongfu!

I took advantage of the gorgeous weather yesterday to enjoy a tea session with a delicious vegan Korean Corn Dog!! Shou is such a perfect compliment with greasy foods like this; and the super syrupy liquor and aptly named flavour is delicious with the more savory flavours of the corn dog!! This was definitely a puerh that just kept giving though, and I enjoyed several additional delicious infusions with brown sugar, molasses, raisin, and sweet earth notes long after my food was gone. Such a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon!!
