Got a single coin bingcha of this one with my order, which showed up conveniently on Dec 23rd but I didn’t get a chance to open it until I returned home on the 24th. Perfect timing for Christmas

It’s weird how accurate ‘strawberry’ is to describing it. There’s a faint acidity rounded out by a sweetness at the roof of your mouth that fits ‘strawberry’ quite well. Maybe ‘candy apple’.

I’m not keeping to any stringent steeping, just haphazardly threw the entire thing in my gaiwan. It took a few steeps for the coin to open up, but it definitely did. Not finding anything hugely complex—but it’s sweet, honey and hay in the forefront, a very dried grass aroma followed by a light fruityness in the back.

The tea definitely lasts a while, more than I expected but the coin takes a while to open up.

Honey lingers between sips when you breath out, quite pleasant.

The dry leaves smell like fruit punch and the brew matches up. Heavy hints of strawberry and apple appear in the brew. Sweetness lingers in the mouth after. A bit of peach appears around steep 3. Lasted about 7 steeps before it bottomed out and heavy astringency set in.

Body is on the thin side as others have mentioned. I don’t personally think that’s a bad thing.

I do recommend this tea. Might get even better with age.

I have tried this Tea twice and it has not gone well. It is kind of flat and thin and has a cardboard taste even when heavily leafed. Wondering what others think who have tried it? Did I get a bad cake or is this just how it is?

Very, very quick/short Gongfu and Grandpa Style tea hybrid… thing…

Indulged in my sample of the 2017 pressing of this black tea over the weekend, while I patiently wait for my sample of this year’s pressing to arrive…

I’ve wanted to take a photo with this collapsed “grid” ever since I first walked by it a few weeks ago. In the time since I discovered this spot – which is sort of near the outside of the little construction/overgrowth alcove I’ve written about the last few weeks, several wasps have built nests around the different collapsed metal grids. I tried to snap my photos and take my story video as quickly as possible; but I unfortunately disturbed a wasp with some poured water so I didn’t make it out completely unscathed…

Short session, to say the least – one wasp string was enough to abort.

Worth it? I don’t know, you tell me.
