From What-Cha

Possesses a stunning chocolate aroma which manifests into a smooth chocolate taste, with carob tones.

Hand produced by Kim Jong Yeol, it is very unique and cannot be truly categorised, it is most like a black tea but has its own unique nuances.

1st infusion (1 min) Aroma is dark roasted chocolate. Tastes metallic and earthy. Slight astringency in the back of the throat.
2nd infusion (2 min) Aroma has hints of chocolate. Tastes earthy and woodsy. More astringent taking over.
3rd infusion (3 min) Aroma is vegetal. More roasted flavor and I can pick up hints of chocolate. Astringency takes over my whole mouth after each sip.

What a weirdly complex tea! I’m not sure if I would get it again, it is very pricey for something I’m not in love with, but I enjoyed the experience!

I’m not really sure how to describe this tea. I don’t think it tastes at all like chocolate, not even a little, although it leaves a little bit of a chocolate sensation in the mouth. It’s kind of earthy, with an odd taste that reminds me of Jerusalem artichokes (aka sun chokes). It also reminds me a bit of sunflower greens. It’s not bad, just very different & kind of wild tasting. Nothing wrong with that! Thanks again to my steep-sister Sil for the opportunity to sample!

Description on this one says stunning chocolate aroma and taste. All that makes me want to do is see if omgsrsly gets dirt from this one too. dry, this really does smell like chocolate/cocoa. However, i get more of a metallic, earthy sort of taste to this while drinking it. it’ll be intersting to see how others find this one…as it’s another “different” tea. having fun with these what-cha samples.

I really need to stop looking at What-cha’s site or my resolve is going to break down and I’m going to place another order.

Sil
