Four days later. I can taste things again. And smell things. Never lost it completely, but it was not what I know it to be.
Dry appearance: Dark leaves, dusty. Some twisted, some silver fuzz. Full leaves.
No aroma. Though at first I smelled the typical raw pu er scents, but they quickly disappeared.

Flavor: Generally, I’m not a fan of raw pu e, but this is showing some really good notes in the first infusion. Cream, dried wood. Second infusion releases a bit more bitterness with stronger woody notes.
Smooth mouth feel. Blanketing.

T_T I decided to get Mucinex. And I’m glad I did because this congestion is messing with my sense of taste. I can barely taste this. There was a strong punch at one point when I oversteeped it. But otherwise, the notes are just not there like they should be

I will come back to taste this later…

Gongfu!

Sipped on this first pu’erh from the Tiger Box a couple days ago. for my afternoon session! It’s a rather stem heavy tea, but among the many stems are large beautiful leaves! Early on the session had a slight snap of sweet citrus to it, but quickly settled into a calmer and more consistent greener leaning profile. Still a hint of fruitiness alongside a light astringency – like lemongrass, in a few ways, and peach skins in others. Mostly I tasted a simple but distinct woodiness and a almost creamy bit of pandan. It’s not hooking me in so immediately the way many of my favourite sheng have, but I’m finding it very grounding and with a mild enough flavour to allow easily a more contemplative session.
