From Verdant Tea

Fuxiang is a smaller pu’er company doing some great work under the radar. This wild arbor cake has a rich an immediate flavor of lotus leaf steamed sticky rice that opens into a thrilling camphory cooling sensation on the palate. The body gets heavier over several steepings with toasted rice and corn maltiness. Elderberry comes through the aftertaste.

Since we started aging this tea in Verdant reserves several years ago, we have seen the fresh sticky rice flavor grow into the kind of mature clean musty aftertaste that makes us fall in love with shu pu’er. The body gets light, buoyant and juicy while the aftertaste settles on the tongue with minerality and sweetness.

This is a very interesting and great tasting shou. There are a lot of shous out there that taste exactly the same. This shou is a very very smooth tasting shou. Now I don’t know if that’s the bottle of cava talking. Nonetheless, great tasting and smooth shou. I am getting notes of honey and almonds.

really? no notes on this one yet? I opted for something darker since i spent the day with dexters moonlight teas. It’s almost time to wrap up tea drinking and move to water or alcohol for the evening lol. I figured i might as well finish off the last of this to help with my sipdowns. 116 this morning and i’m trying to get to 100 for month end. I don’t see it happening but hey, girl has got to have something to work towards lol

I have enjoyed this one, and for me that’s a good thing as for a while, all verdant’s shous were tasting the same to me. this is smooth and dark and rich. over time it grows into a stronger brew with a slight sweetness to it while still holding that dark and delicious depth i love in shou’s. mmmmm
