Let’s first be clear about one thing: the dry tea smells awful. The last ingredients here are “genuine bourbon vanilla” and “artificial flavor,” and at least one of those is dissolved in some kind of unpleasant solvent. Seriously, I imagine that there are teenagers huffing this stuff somewhere in a (presumably vain) attempt to get high.

When it’s actually brewed, though, things are much more pleasant. The vanilla flavor actually mostly fades away, leaving a reasonable (if unexceptional) fruit tea, nice for chilly autumn/winter evenings.

I’m new here and new to reviewing teas. Here’s my take: I didn’t like this tea hot. It was very tart. Even sweetened w/sugar and milk – not very good; however, it is DELICIOUS iced. Doesn’t need much sugar for the iced. I seeped it for hours in the fridge.

Sample from Kaylee. Thank you!

Some time ago I mixed hibiscus flowers with ground vanilla beans and brewed it for my husband, who really likes both flavors. He actually didn’t like it much, but I really enjoyed it. The combination of the earthy sweetness of the vanilla with the tartness of the Hibiscus made for a very interesting combination. This tastes much the same, except I think the vanilla flavor is boosted a bit by the artificial flavors, but it’s pretty similar. I like it. It’s something I would happily include in my rotation of hibiscus teas.

Flavors: Earth, Hibiscus, Tart, Vanilla

Kaylee

I’m so glad you liked it after all!

Me too! I think part of it is that I do quite like Hibiscus teas, unlike a lot of people on Steepster. I also liked that instead of pairing the Hibiscus with a fruit flavor, this went in a very different direction. It’s unique. Thanks again for the chance to try it!

I thought I had some kind of allergic type reaction to hibiscus But I’ve been drinking teas with it here lately and it hasn’t seemed to bother me, weird, Anyways……This one is not very tasty, Don’t taste much Vanilla and it’s way too tangy and tart and kinda sour, this just tastes like a really strange fruit tea, It don’t even taste like a specific fruit just some weird tangy sour fruit. Not very enjoyable as a warm tea to me, Maybe it would be better cold but I’ll never know that cuz i’m done with it after just half a cup.

The Hibiscus leaves makes this tea tart. Once sweetened it’s ok.

This is OK, but barely. I use it to blend with other teas, but I will not buy it again. The real vanilla is drowned out by the fake vanilla.
