notes I made but never posted from April 24:
This smells like menthol. Not necessarily a bad smell, but it reminds me of being sick and using vaporub. It tastes, well, minty. Even though it’s just mint, it doesn’t feel as overwhelming as the mintiness of the Wissotzsky mint tea that I found so unpleasant.

notes from today:
This is really nice when you actually are sick. The peppermint is relieving some of the sinus pressure and tastes very nice. There’s a touch of sweetness on the back end that leaves a pleasant aftertaste as well. This is a tea to keep on hand for colds, allergies, and possibly headaches (if I remember to buy it…).

First of all, I bought this tea because it was on a 2 for $6 sale and my tea inventory was rather low and in need of replenishment. I bought this with Twinings Lady Grey as I wanted to have a breakfast tea. I grabbed this as soon as I saw it o the stores shelves because I am a big fan of peppermint tea, desiring a tea to help me with my sore throat, and of course, it helps with digestion. It smells wonderful. This is the best smelling peppermint tea I’ve encountered by far. Its scent is so strong and pleasing, even my little brother, who is not a fan tea, was taken aback by how relaxing the scent is, saying it reminded him of Christmas (probably because of candy canes). As soon as I opened the box, I could smell its wonderful aroma, leaving a great first impression. I wish the flavor lived up to my first impression though. The flavor was not as strong and I like my teas on the stronger side. I suggest brewing it longer than the suggested time. The peppermint flavor is more of an aftertaste than the actual taste of the beverage, so steeping it a little longer is ideal for someone like me. When you first pour boiling water over the bag, a greenish hue is emitted from the tea bag, which I find very odd as most peppermint teas brew into a dark orange-brown color. After a minute goes by, the green tinge turns to that color, but still, a slight green tinge in the first minutes of steeping was not what I expected. I really hoped that the peppermint taste would have been stronger, especially because this is pure peppermint. I have had ginseng peppermint blend teas that had more minty tastes than this. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.

I forgot to mention that this shouldn’t be steeped for 8 minutes or more as the taste becomes bitter. Usually bitter tastes is not a characteristic of herbal teas, but I suppose this tea was intended to have a light flavor (I just like to manipulate tea to tickle my fancy)

This is probably my favourite peppermint tea brand.

It has a lovely colour, lovely aroma and a bold, classic flavour. It seems to keep fresh for longer, and not go stale as quickly as some of the other brands.

(And with a grand total of 40 Twining’s Pure Peppermint tea bags I am very grateful for that.) I mention, rather facetiously, that I’m a professional peppermint propagandist in the ‘about me’ section of my profile – and I’ve tried and tested my fair share of peppermint teas. But, this has to be my favourite. Twining’s is certainly the maestro of tea bags, and this proves no different.

Beautiful colour, brilliant taste, warm finish.

Very nice, but then, it’s pretty hard to wreck peppermint tea unless you add, I don’t know, dirt or nail clippings or something. Well done, Twinings! – a modest task accomplished well, and congratulations on not lacing it with hibiscus.

One of my staple teas, I try to always have it in my cupboard. I’ve noticed that some other peppermint teas from different brands can leave a rather bitter after-taste – not this one I find. Even when let to brew for some time (aka, forgetting about it!) it still retains it’s relatively light flavour.

Also my favourite tea for when I’m feeling under the weather; I was always given mints or told to brush my teeth when I was younger to help calm my stomach, peppermint really seems to help.

True story: this is my evening tea. Anything else and I’ll be staring at the ceiling for lord knows how many hours, you dig? Fortunately, Twinings’ peppermint possesses a strong mint flavor for ages and has a vibrancy that other peppermints lack. It’s Good Stuff, okay, and worthy of being a staple in my household.

Brews a dark green liquor with nice aroma. Flavor with half a pack of Truvia and you have a very pleasant sip n’ cup of fine flavored tisane. Yum This came as a single free teabag with my online order. Never woulda’ bought this before and surprized by how much I like it.
