From Twinings

Our strongest ever Twinings blend – no need for 2 teabags anymore!! Assam BOLD is smooth, strong and malty – if you like your tea strong, you’ll love it!
Packing a bold, malt punch, this black tea is world-renowned for its robust and refreshing tones. Strong, smooth and amber in colour, this offering from Assam in North East India will have you pepped right back up, post breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Assam Bold is going to be brilliant for you milk fans out there and of course for anyone who likes a spot of sugar.

Bold? Depends what your measuring. As far as flavor is concerned there is nothing bold about this. I can’t detect any flavor (Hello flavor.. Where are you?), and I don’t use much milk.. Tasteless and very disappointing. I won’t trust the Twinings strength meter ever again (first world problems lol).

My tea tastes evolved through the various breakfast teas: English, then Irish, then Scottish. It was this point I discovered my love of Assam. Twinings Assam Bold was my first pure Assam, and delighted me while I lived in Australia. A solid entry, although I have since moved on to other favorites, such as Barry’s Tea Gold Blend.

A good solid Assam. But not as complex or flavoursome as Madura Assam (which I think you might only be able to get here in Australia). Nonetheless, a worthwhile tea.
