Pomegranate & Raspberry

Mmmmmm, this tea was nice! It’s usually very hard to please me in the “fruity herbal” department, although I am a big time sucker for anything berry-flavored. The sweetness of the pomegranate balances out the tartness of the raspberry beautifully, and it’s not like WOAH-Holy-Hibiscus-Get-This-Nasty-Bitter-Sludge-Outta-My-Mouth (Thank God). It steeps a nice red color, and it smells melodic. I added a teaspoon of honey, and it was just perfect.

Lovely afternoon tea to have with a friend. Which I did. :)

This is one of the best herbal teas I’ve ever tasted. For once, that very assertive trademark hibiscus flavor only serves to benefit the tea! The hibiscus taste really brings that pucker to the pomegranate flavor, and the raspberry tastes seedy and juicy. Tastes like it would be great iced – pity I don’t have another bag to test that with!

Day 16 of my Steepster homemade advent calendar from Kelmishka! I’ve still been drinking my advents the past couple of days but I needed a break from writing up proper tasting notes. So now I have some catching up to do! Thankfully I took handwritten notes to work off of.

I like the pomegranate and raspberry flavors in here! They’re sweet and juicy. It’s got some hibiscus tartness going too, and a little bit of that same syrupiness that some of the Clipper berry teas have. I’m not sure what causes that! In this case, it’s mild enough to be pleasing rather than off-putting – but it does make me think this is one herbal where I wouldn’t suggest leaving the bag in indefinitely. This would also probably make a good tea soda.

I love fruit and hibiscus teas and the liquorice and chicory added a nice complexity

Had high hopes for this one but ultimately I found that the flavor left much to be desired. I didn’t use too much water so it couldn’t have been overly diluted. Had a lot of potential but just wish that the pomegranate and raspberry notes were more prominent.

Love this herbal tea, perfect sweetness to it. It has a little floral aspect to it as well.

While the tea was steeping I thought it smelled somewhere between hot cough syrup and hot Kool-Aid. However, this tea really redeemed itself because it tasted really good. I was quite happy with the blend of fruity flavors. It did not taste at all tart the way I steeped it (with water just below boiling temperature for 4 minutes).

This tea smells amazing and tastes just as good. I bought this for the hibiscus, but I bought it again for the whole package. It’s the exact right balance of sweet, sour, fruity and floral.

This cup is tart but that’s exactly what I think of when I see pomegranate and raspberry. It does taste juicy but I’m not really picking up on any fresh raspberry flavor. Maybe this one is meant to be more pomegranate, but it’s really more of a general berry flavor. I can also smell and taste the hibiscus. It’s sweet though so I’m enjoying it.
