From Tribute Tea Company

A true legacy of the Tang Dynasty and described in reverence in Lu Yu’s famous book, Cha Jing, Classic of Tea… Mountain Yellow Buds was an official Tribute Tea in the Tang, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It is believed that the method of producing it was actually lost around the time of WWII.

Fortunately, tea masters recovered its lost secret in 1972 and artisans have been crafting small batches of this exquisite yellow varietal ever since. A delicate, pale cup yeields an unexpectedly bold, vegetal aroma of hazelnut and peas. The finish is unforgettably balanced and refreshing…

Notes: wheatgrass, hazelnut, roasted corn

Infusion: 180ºF / 82ºC for 30 seconds

Origin: Huo Shan County, Anhui Province, China

Looked like it was going to be a delicately flavored tea but I was wrong. Mildly aromatic yet surprisingly full-flavorful, almost strong, with a very long finish. Definately wheatgrass overtones.
On the second steep, I picked up the scent of green peas – interesting !
