From Trader Nicks Tea Company

It’s a small underworld after all! Deep sinister blue tea with sarcastically spicy ginger and tart lemon complemented with vanilla and sweet apple. This tea may appear dark and scary, but it is actually quite sweet and lovable.

Tasting Notes: lemon | ginger | vanilla

Take a trip down to the underworld with our favorite blue-haired villain, Hades! He gives this herbal blend two thumbs way, way up for perfectly capturing the fun and slightly spicy demeanor of the god of the underworld.

This tasty caffeine-free herbal turns a deep blue color when brewed, to reflect Hades’ calm and cool-colored blue-flamed hair. If you want to see what happens when Hades gets enraged and his flames turn red add some lemon juice to the brewed tea and it turns a fiery pink! The flavor is a delicious creamy vanilla lemon with the light spicy kick of ginger and sweet apple.

Ingredients: apple, lemongrass, green rooibos, orange pieces, vervain, flavor, vanilla pieces, butterfly pea blossoms, ginger

Cold Brew!

This tea tasted so eerily familiar the entire time I was drinking it and I was just never able to properly place what other lemon tea it was making me think of – which definitely drives me a bit crazy. Anyway, it was pretty good. The butterfly pea flower does cause it to steep a blueish grey colour that’s fairly appropriate for Hades. A more brilliant blue would feel wrong, but this actually kind of looks like the skin colour of the Disney character…

The lemon is very complex in taste – but that’s because it’s coming from multiple different lemon-y sources. It works though! Not too sweet or pithy or tart but a little bit of all the above, too. Also natural yet just a touch decadent and creamy. The ginger was lighter than anticipated, but I liked how it clicked with this very extra seeming lemon note. It was very refreshing!

I skipped this one because the flavor profile sounded pretty boring, but you’re making me reconsider for my next order!

This tastes like you added a bit of ginger and butterfly pea flowers to Glazed Lemon Loaf by Tazo. It has that lemon cream cakiness with a little bite. The blue color is perfect for Hades too! It was super yummy, I definitely recommend it, the pea flowers don’t leave an after taste with this one it’s all lemon cake with a touch of ginger icing.
