I’ve always wanted to try a tea advent calendar, and, to my utter delight, my sister made me one! She’s given me a bunch of little tea samples from her own (fabulous) tea cupboard, and I am excited for the month to come.
Day one was this. It’s a pretty decent raspberry tea, not bitter at all, but not quite as juicy as I’d like.
I’ve really got to stick my head in Trader Joes soon and look at their teas.

So Now that I’m down to the bottom of the tin and only have about 2 servings left of this. I decided to try it hot again to see if the raspberry flavor was at the bottom. This was definitely the case as I could taste the raspberry in the cup this time. All of the freeze dried raspberries were trapped at the bottom of the tin but really it was just sawdust. There were no small pieces at all. The raspberry sawdust still made a difference though. I wouldn’t repurchase this but definitely look forward to trying higher quality raspberry black teas in the future.

It’s part of a collection of 10 teas available at Christmas time at Trader Joe’s. This black tea is (in my opinion) the best of the 10. And surprisingly, it seems to be just as good as some of the “higher end” flavored black teas on the market.
You do need to be aware that this is a “flavored tea”, so if you have an intolerance for that kind of thing, this tea won’t change your mind.
Flavors: Raspberry
They have a nice tea section for sure! I bought a pumpkin rooibos from them years ago, mostly for the cute tin, which I still use to refill with whatever other pumpkin tea I have on hand.
Tea that is a thoughtful gift always tastes twice as good!
I bought that same pumpkin rooibos for the tin! They used to carry a really nice bagged jasmine that contained little balls of rolled up tea leaves. It was so good!
