From The Tea Table

Made at the request of a local tea room, our Decaffeinated Chocolate Mint Black Tea is a delicious blend of decaffeinated black tea, peppermint, chocolate pieces, and flavoring. It brews a cup of tea with a rich, creamy, chocolate aroma and a mild minty taste that is just right after dinner. Try adding milk for an even creamier treat! Use one teaspoon per cup and steep 3-5 minutes.

Had this because I didn’t want to bore you guys with another Vanilla Comoro entry ;) and I though it would go well with the remaining butter cookies with chocolate tops. It was quite good! I’m still getting a little chemically taste, but it’s a very drinkable tea. I have about a teaspoon left of my sample, and I think I will mix it with some chocolate tea I have for a sort of “half-caf” concoction one night :)

They should rename “Vanilla Comoro” to “Jacqueline’s Tea” and call it a day.

(said in best Sunset Boulevard voice) “All right Mr. Harney, I’m ready for my close-up!”

SimplyJenW

Have you tried Harney’s Midsummer Peach? Not quite as good as Vanilla Comoro, but a nice decaf fruit flavored tea. I think my fave decaf list is Vanilla Comoro, Midsummer Peach, and Harney’s Decaf Ceylon. I am starting to be able to taste that light chemical taste in the others. :(

JacquelineM

SinplyJenW – I’ll have to put that on my list for the next Harney order! Thanks for the rec – I love peachy teas!

SimplyJenW

I have some sachets, and I could pop some in the mail for you.

JacquelineM

I saw you ask about Rosy Earl Grey. Have you tried it yet? I can send you some of that in exchange if you’d like?

SimplyJenW

I would not mind trying the Rosy Earl Grey if I knew I could get more (I hate it when I get attached to something and it is no longer available….I still have not gotten an email response of any kind from three weeks ago when I asked about availability!). You know, I have emailed Harney asking when Golden Monkey would be back in stock (it is Septemeber, in case you were wondering!) I would love a small sample of it, if you have some to spare. I want to compare it to the Golden Monkey I have, so that I will be ready to order from Harney in the Fall!

JacquelineM

You got it! I’ll get it out end of week/early next week!! I am very glad to know about when Golden Monkey will be back! Thank you!

(I bet Rosy will be back – I’ll throw a little in – maybe you’ll hate it and then you won’t have to worry :)

SimplyJenW

LOL…. I will probably mail out soon. I am headed to my sister’s to visit my 7 mo niece in a few days. It is my kid’s only cousin on my side of the family, and they are quite smitten with her!

I just had a friend mention she was looking for Midsummer Peach! She loves it, and I offered to put it on my order since Barnes and Noble doesn’t carry it anymore!

This one is pretty good in the evening, but it always makes me wonder why it is hard to find a good decaf chocolate tea…. I have no problems finding good fruit flavors, and a great vanilla. Why is decaf chocolate so hard?

For this one I have to slightly heap the spoon, and I take it with milk and sweetener. I only wish the chocolate was more intense. Maybe I will have to toss in some mini chips, or some cocoa powder next time……

Second steep, I added a little more tea and a few shakes of Dutch process cocoa powder. Yum. More chocolately goodness!
