From The Tea Spot

If strength is your weakness, then Assam is your tea. This tea is from the Doomni Estate in the Assam valley in northeast India along the rich and fertile banks of the Brahamaputra River is prized for its heartiness and tart, malty flavor and aroma. A strong, full-liquoring tea, slightly floral and sweetly dry flavor. A honey-like mouth coat and aftertaste. This is a good tea to try with a touch of milk. For a more subtle & sweet rendition, try our Organic Assam.

Opening the bag, I get a rich malty aroma with a hint of (unexpected) chocolate.
I steep…
ahhh….yes…malty, chewy, bold, full, sweet…calgon, take me away…oops, wrong commercial!
I resteep…
oops again! I accidentally resteeped yesterdays leaves from Two Friends for the 3rd time! I’m kindof shambling around here on autopilot, & I realized it as I was taking the filter out of the cup, the leaves of TF are amazingly big & beautiful! More on that later!
I resteep…
mmmm…still a substantial cup!
So, I’m off to practice some Debussy! I’ve got this, the resteep of TF, & a resteep of Caramel Vanilla Assam (review forthcoming, but I’ll say right now that it’s to die for).

I also had this version this morning and, 3 yrs later, still find it the same. Slightly malty, a little sweetness and overall preferable to the organic version :)

I see you’re delving into the box :)

gotta get down to 100 (or ideally…70, but that won’t likely happen)

The aroma is sweet honey and malty tones. The liquor brews quite dark chestnut colour. I drank this in my 16oz tumbler and it provided me with the pick me up that I needed. As many of you know I am new to the world of teas and many times it will be the first time that I have ever tried said tea which was the case with this assam tea.

I must say that I quite enjoyed this malty brew and look forward to having many more cuppas of this tea.

Assam is a great tea that has more tannin thsn other teas. The tea bushes are drenched by storms near the sea at lower altitudes. This is what makes the tea so strong. It goes really well with milk products. So you can either put milk in it, or drink it while eating yoghurt or anything creamy. :)

Thank you for this note I love learning all this new information about the different variety of tea. I drank it without milk and just one sugar and that was great, I’ll try it with some milk next time too.

Got a sample of this from The Tea Spot. I drank it this summer, lol. So yeah, this is a very late review.

I had it for breakfast everyday when I was visiting my cousins’ cottage for a week in August, on the beach with my baby. My actual baby. Not like, a romantic thing.

It was delicious in the mornings with milk. A good strong cup and I usually had two steeps out of it. I honestly can’t quite remember if it was super flavourful, but I did enjoy it.

Assams are usually tasty to me!
So, there you have it! Just reviewed it so I’ll remember having tried it :)
