Purple liquid + HUGE green water bottle = grey-black beverage! I cold brewed this tea since I didn’t have time to heat some water this morning. It was… umm… interesting. I can’t say I want to buy this tea. It kept me hydrated all day! I think it might taste good hot. I’m not sure since I’m not a fan of hot fruity teas.
I really like this tea as a casual bag tea for hot or cold grab-a-mug’ing. It’s a dark pink color when done steeping and has a nice tart pomegranate flavor. I usually don’t like RoT teas and over-all I don’t tend to like fruity teas, but the tart and fruit of this one is pleasant.
This has been sitting in my cabinet for a couple of months now. I have been afraid to try it, because I haven’t been too impressed with the Superfruit Teas TRoP has; Blueberry is the exception.
While brewing, it reminds me of bubble gum, the color took a while to emerge, but it began to arise like a red snake slowly dispersing in swirls.
Three minutes is maybe a bit too long for this blend. It is a smidge tart and bitter, but unlike most teas with hibiscus, I don’t feel like I have to force it down.
I’m not the hugest fan of fruit teas, but this one was awesome! It’s a great idea to blend fruit with green, it gets rid of the tart flavor I usually can’t stand.
The first think I notice is that it’s a very light tea, and that if you over brew it it can taste burnt quickly. But this is great to just have as a light tea, I’m a fan overall.
My coworkers and I brought our least favorite teas to work to share with each other in the break room (on the theory that some people will really enjoy teas that others despise – a theory which the reviews of this tea bear out really well!).
I loved this tea! I note that other reviewers thought that the pomegranate flavoring overwhelmed the green tea. For me, this was a plus. I’m not a huge fan of the taste of green tea. I prefer black or white tea to green tea. To me, green tea has always tasted a bit like steeped fescue (a type of grass that is widely used to seed our lawns in the USA).
So, as far as I’m concerned, this is the kind of tea I look for when I look for green tea. It’s definitely a green tea, and you definitely don’t taste the green tea. It tastes more like a fruit tea, which is what I like about the flavor.
I could see myself drinking more green tea, as long as it tastes like this one.
For those who hated this tea – just take it to work with you and leave it in the break room for your coworkers. Doubtless one of them will fall in love with it, like I did.
This tea came in an absolutely gorgeous envelope, the color of which alone was enough to set the mouth watering and ramp up expectations for a really luscious brew. Unfortunately, the container lied. So did the description of the tea. The “ruby-hued” liquid this tea produces is a faint purple. There was no red to be found, and that was the first clue that this was going to be a disappointment. It smelled like fruit while brewing, but it wasn’t a good, clear, identifiable fruit aroma. In the cup it had little flavor and no body. I followed steeping instructions to the letter and still ended up with an insipid brew that had a watered-down artificial fruit juice motif and a very unpleasant dusty aftertaste. I got it as a free sample, but this is awful stuff at any price.
Someone brought this in at my work, and it is delicious! All the joys of a fruit tea, but without being super overpowering. I like the soft edge from the green tea versus the usual stronger bitterness (astringency?) to the edges of flavored black teas. PLUS, I can usually resteep this gem at least once for a second well-tasting (less full-bodied of course, but still good) cup of tea. I’m giving this guy an extra good rating for withstanding the trials of being a work-related tea.
