From The Republic of Tea

Superfruit Tea – The goji berry has been revered for generations in Tibet for its anti-aging properties and is considered one of the world’s most nutritionally rich foods. Their flavor, a cross between a raisin and a cranberry, is enhanced by the tart-sweetness of red-raspberries. Combined with green tea, this blend is rich with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants.

I have a tin of this to use up. So, of course I made this into iced tea. Cold brewed overnight. 4 teabags in about 40 oz of water (I do like my iced teas light.) I am really surprised with this one. I was expecting the green tea to be very present, but I mostly get the goji and raspberry. Very refreshing after working out on the patio, weeding and cleaning out the grill in preparation for many meals cooked outside this summer…starting with halibut tonight!

Just a small bit of green tea to get me through the afternoon here at work. I really like the fact that I can taste the goji in this one (as compared to Zhena’s goji cacao, where I have yet to find it). This is my last bag of this I have (only bought a travel tin to try it out), and I’m not sure if I’ll get more. Chances are no, since there’s so many other teas out there that I want to try first. If it were on sale, though, chances are that it would end up back in my cupboard.

yummy tea of the night. smells like raspberry jello. used 2 sachets of tea since i like to double up.
have been drinking this tea for years, though not as frequently as when i first got it. perhaps i’ll revisit this more seriously.
yes, there is a tart bite to this, not to mention lovely magenta color imparted by the hibiscus, but it’s not what i would call overwhelming. i went crazy on ‘raspberry-pomegranate’ or ‘red fruit/berry’ type green (and herbal) teas & hibiscus always makes an appearance, fret not lovers of this tropical objet d’art. in fact, we have a lovely hibiscus plant on our porch outside with yellow flowers that are simply gorgeous!

but back to the tea. i find this totally drinkable without sweetener, but a little honey couldn’t hurt. a nice superfruit green to have on hand. pleasant. raspberry is the most prominent note & is quite lovely, but then again i’m a lover of all things raspberry.

don’t want it to get bitter? throw 3 ice cubes into cup of boiling water (or water just short of boiling), let sit for 1 min, then add the tea. let steep 3-5 min and you should be good.

Yum! This tea taste like a mixture of grape and raspberry so incredibly good iced but great hot too! Coming from a tea bag and not being loose leaf this is great stuff!

Steeped for 3 minutes with 1 packet of raw sugar

It’s ok, the raisin-y flavor is a bit too much for me, and I oversteeped the &@$! out of it so the stomachache it gave me is what I get for being too lazy to take the bag out of my thermos before drinking it! I won’t buy this again but I will finish the tin or swap a handful of bags. I really am trying to not hate green tea!

Not great, but it meets that standard Republic of Tea tastiness. It isn’t bad by any means, just not a great tea.

The lady who sold the tin to me insisted the flavor is “not quite a raspberry and not quite a raisin. It’s somewhere in the middle, there.”
