From The Republic of Tea

The Flower of Love. Highly scented orange blossoms are full of essential oils and are traditionally used as adornments in wedding ceremonies. The blossoms impart an invigorating citrus note to this rare White Tea, creating the ultimate cup.

Not all White Teas are created equal! The Republic of Tea has procured this season’s harvest to offer 100% White Tea in our signature round, unbleached tea bags. No other variety of tea or leaves are included. Once reserved for the cups of emperors and nobility we are honored to offer you this pure, delicate brew with its subtle, sweet, lingering finish. Serve warm or over ice.

Part of the RoT sampler. I have only a few left to try.

Orange Blossom has a sweet scent to it. The dry bag always has dust around it. The leaves are chopped up. Upon steeping, it is mild and interesting. There is a sweet, citrusy aftertaste, which I like. The only thing I don’t like is the hint of medicinal taste. Its like a VERY VERY watered down cough syrup.

I knew I should have walked away from this sample…really…noone I’ve tried has done this right as yet. This is no exception. Where is the tea? All you taste is a watery orange and an aftertaste of ….pith. HELP! Pooie…

TeaBrat

more often than not the Republic of Tea has been a disappointment to me.

The orange taste is very subtle, and this tea is so easily brewed incorrectly—although it’s not too bitter even then. This tea was made by a barista so it wasn’t very well brewed, but I still liked it, more or less.

The orange flavor is light and delicate but even that overpowers the white tea.

Mixed it with Pomegranate Green Superfruit Tea, and it was also highly delicious. I brewed it (3:2) for an iced tea, which turned out nice, but honestly would’ve been better (2:3) instead.

I am learning though- this was a good example of using different tastes that don’t clash and ensuring each is a different type of tea. If the Pomegranate had also been white, it’d have been a very confusing tea (and if the Orange had been green, it’d have been far too heavy).

As noted in the picture, this tea has a very light yellow liqueur. Suiting, because this tea is very light overall, as is typical with White tea. I am not a huge fan of light teas, but this white tea is quite suiting for the headache I have and the rain outside: very subtlety sweet and refreshing.

It has a light and smooth body. The fruity flavor in this tea lingers. There is negligible but noticeable briskness. The aroma off the nose from both the tea bags and brew is very light.
