Overboard TTB.

I don’t know if this tea is just old, or if I made it wrong or what, but I’m not tasting any maple or pecan here. Just bitter black tea.

This one is actually almost brand new. I did notice that it can get seriously bitter if left to steep even a teensy bit too long. If you try it again, brew it for less time and see if you can get a bit more flavor out that way.

I think I’ve had that problem with other flavored blacks by. Republic of Tea. Since bitterness is one of the things I really dislike in tea, I think I’ll just pass this on to someone else.

Not a huge fan. I think there was too much dust rather than leaf. I taste the pecan somewhat but hardly any maple. Sometimes I wonder how long a tea like this might sit on a shelf in the warehouse and then the store especially since it is a somewhat seasonal tea.

I got to sample this at Cost Plus World Market today and, since I had a gift card, I purchased a tin of this and a couple of decorative storage tins for some other teas that have been making my kitchen smell like berries and cream recently :) I got these two:

And I can already tell I will soon be grabbing these two:

They’ve got great seals, too. Love them so much!

On to the tea! This was a very enjoyable black tea. I can’t say I tasted much maple, but I could taste the nutty pecan and was quite happy with that. This will be a lovely cold-morning tea, I think :)
