“The dried tea leaves smell like autumn. A mixture of turning leaves and sweet apple cider. The wet leaves smell like tobacco and damp earth. I’m impressed by the full, silky mouth feel of this tea....” Read full tasting note

Description

Nowadays, the Ban Zhang (班章) name is very popular and luring with Pu-erh tea drinkers. But not everyone knows what is Ban Zhang.

Ban Zhang may refer to the Pu-Erh tea or to villages where the Pu-erh tea grows. There are three Ban Zhang villages: Lao(老) Ban Zhang, Xing (新) Ban Zhang, and Lao Man Eh. They are all located on Bu Lang Mountain. Because it is very difficult to access the mountain in the olden days, this region where the villages and the old tea trees are is still kept in its original condition. The teas from these villages are very similar in appearance and taste.

The unique aroma of this Xing Ban Zhang is very unassuming. The tea liquid is rich and flavorful. It exhibits some bitterness, but lots of complexity. The tea leaves a long lasting fragrance in the mouth and has good “hui gan”.
