Received one tea bag from someone in Switzerland (she sent me actually 5 different ones)

I have again some panic attacks lately. I think it is caused by staying in household with same people and I actually do not meet other people too much. I rather stay at home, doing school shit work. I began being more rude as well, maybe I am stressed out somehow. My mother thinks I spend too much time in front of screen of my laptop and when I told her, I have to – because everything is on the Internet, she was just angry that it doesn’t make any sense and that I should not do that much to school. Well – if it was normal life outside, I guess, I will spend all days in University, so what she expects?

I miss inventory checks. The money for summer will be short too I guess. They haven’t replied to a summer job yet, I wrote them e-mail week ago, so I guess I will try it again.

To the tea:
I tried to do it as much as I could do with instructions. 80°C water, 300 ml water (they recommend 236 ml (8 fl oz) and filtered) and 3 minutes of steeping.
It made bit of foam, which is weird. Aroma little peachy and mostly grass seed. Taste? Quite weak, I hoped for very fruity flavour. Some warming notes of ginger, but not spicy at all. Base tea? Meh. Grass seed flavour as well.

Expected way more than I actually get.

Totally random question: is pizza popular in CZ?

Martin Bednář

I wonder why do you ask that derk – but yeah, it is quite popular here… but hard to get any right now, as restaurants are closed down and they can do deliveries, but they are always busy.

derk

Idk, I’m going to make a pizza from scratch if I have flour. Was wondering if you’ve ever made a pizza.

I get you, Martin. I treasure my time alone, but especially at night I like some interaction. Now I have lost a lot of my time alone, because my daughter’s hours have been cut but she still works some. My husband is essential personnel and was supposed to work from home every other day, but it wasn’t working out so this week he is going to start going in every day again but get off an hour early. So I have no students coming and therefore no income and no people to see other than husband and daughter. They are home more so I don’t get as much daytime alone time, but because they are both out in public there is a small worry of one of us catching the virus. And my only social activity was my ladies’ Bible study group, but it is cancelled. We are going to try it as a Zoom meeting this week, and while I am thankful for that, it isn’t the same. Also I find myself overreacting (on the inside) to things and feeling irritated at husband and daughter for doing exactly what they always do that doesn’t usually bother me. But this will pass. I will say a prayer for you!

derk: haha, okay then. I never made a pizza from scratch, but… I was working in pizzeria as delivery boy, so I indeed saw how to make it. Two types of flour, half and half, little of yeast, olive oil. Mix and stir. Wait few minutes (I think it was around 20), prepare packages of made dough and right into fridge to let them wait for pizza orders. Ahh, 5 years ago, 3 weeks of work there. The boss was dumbass though, so I left. I was not into losing my driving license within first year I had it. He told me I must drive faster (but that would mean at least 70 kph in a town (limit is 50)).

Ashmanra: Thank you for this. I like to be alone, being alone is just good. But yeah – I need to see poeple too. And I would really enjoy if it was somebody else than family. I myss friends for example. Yes, we can call each other, but it’s not that great as meeting them real life.
I can imagine it’s hard for you as well, especially you are used to meet the students, but you can’t. I think the overreacting is some reply of body to stress. We are somehow all stressed, can’t really find the reasons for that and so on. Let’s be safe and thinking about each other, not ourselves.

*miss

How I could made that mistake? :D

I guess in these days we should be thankful of the technology and hopefully being able to keep updated on what is going on because of the technology. I guess this pandemic made me aware that Zoom exists? Hopefully things will settle down soon.

Martin: I was going to ask if you wanted to make a pizza and share the results but I don’t know why I didn’t follow up on that. It was something for me to do to pass the time and loneliness. Idk if you’re interested but I made two pizzas, one with spinach, mushroom, shallots, purple potatoes from the garden and truffle oil; the other with roasted red bell peppers, fresh pineapple, basil and little pickled hot peppers. Sauce and dough from scratch.

Also good call on quitting the pizza joint. “Take this job and shove it, I ain’t workin’ here no more.” — Dead Kennedys

Maybe I could try it, but I prefer to roast meat, usually pork or chicken. I started to do some beef as well; still I have lots of to learn.

Your pizzas sounds very tasty, especially the first one looks great. I like to cook, but as I was cooking all last week, it wasn’t pleasure anymore. But then, like today, I like that I can cook again. This time it is pork shoulder with caraway (lots of), sauerkraut and dumplings. Check vepřo-knedlo-zelo, it should be very similar to it, but we are using potato dumplings instead today (leftovers from yesterday). Maybe I will do a pizza when I have to stay at home.

tea-sipper: indeed good point! We are updated what is going on, how to protect oureselves, we can study, some people can work from home (although the work effeciency drop) and so on. I hope that it will settle down soon as well, we still have no idea when we could return to University.

derk! Your pizzas! You have purple potatoes growing! I became obsessed with those while visiting Maine. And that second pizza! I love basil, pineapple (especially on pizza) and pickled hot peppers but never thought to put them together! Thank you for sharing that. :D
