I finished the last bit of my initial 2oz purchase today, so technically a sipdown but I recently got another 2oz of it on sale, so not really.

Today has been a really nice relaxed new years day. My husband and I planned out our season ticket to the symphony, watched Zoolander and didn’t do much of anything else. Not sure what 2014 is going to bring, but I hope I’m ready for it!

Seems like forever since I’ve done a tea tasting. Heh.
brewed this hot then dropped a few ice cubes in a glass and poured this over it. Wish I had let this cool more before doing that…I splashed some of the liquid onto my hand. Glad it wasn’t a liquid that was close to 212!
Anyways: This sort of reminds me of Teavana’s Chateau Blanc, though like a weaker version. Though at the beginning of testing the Chateau Blanc I liked it, by the time I gotten to having 3rd and 4th cups at a later time, I had trouble even finishing the cup! This tea though it has a similar flavor it seems to be more pleasant, but at this moment I cannot see myself getting another bag once this is done. Now if this was a tea at the shop I like in Plymouth, (For over $10 less in the average tea they have!) I would be more inclined to at least keep this around for iced tea.

Assuming it has been brewed to perfection, you will taste a lovely and delicate citrus with a floral hint. There is a huge array of different fruits in there too, that are not particularly noticeable, but they add the soft sweetness to the tea to pull all the flavors together.

It has a very light tea body, which makes it very nice and refreshing. However, I would not recommend drinking it cold; it is very astringent and a little bitter when it cools down

I was at the mall today and passed by Teavana. I’ve had some unpleasant in-store experiences, so I just passed right on by. On my way out of the mall, though, I was in a pretty good mood and thought I could probably handle any pushy salespeople. As soon as I entered, I told them I wanted an iced tea to go so they didn’t even have a chance to try to push things on me. The girl working was actually pretty nice and showed me some teas I might enjoy without pushing me to purchase any. Phew. I feel like this is turning into a diary entry, so let me just cut to the actual tea tasting part.

While my experience at Teavana was surprisingly pleasant, I was disappointed somewhat by this tea. I love love love asian pear, but this tea was not as sweet as the title might suggest. Also, the aftertaste is heavily floral/perfume-y. Not sure what elderflowers are, but maybe it was that? Whatever asian pear taste there might be was quickly replaced by the sensation that I had accidentally swallowed someone’s perfume. I had this tea on my shopping list originally to try, but I don’t think I will be purchasing more for myself. Oh well, at least I tried a cup (a ridiculously expensive one) before buying a bunch and regretting it!

This one and I are not getting along too well. I think I’m constantly oversteeping, whether hot or cold because it has a bitter, unpleasant taste. Stronger when I gulp a lot down at once… hmm. It is probably because it’s a white tea and I don’t have a thermometer.

I ordered this tea at Teavana the other day and it was DELICIOUS. It had lovely pear notes but also had a strong citrus and berry flavor. I had it iced and it was a perfectly refreshing drink on a warm summer day.

Had this iced today! It was really good and very sweet… Maybe too much rock sugar? I couldn’t taste the white tea at all. Tasted like juice. Really good but

Kasumi no Chajin

possibly. I know Asian Pears on their own can be very sweet and wet/juicy, so it may have been the character of the tea too…

Always fun to come across some Teavana out in the wild! This one is from the tea box. It’s pretty strongly perfumey both in scent and taste. The pear flavor is definitely there, but the flowery flavor is a little too strong for me. It’s kind of like squirting perfume in your mouth. It’s so strong. I don’t think I can finish this.

Smells amazing, but has a very artificial chemical aftertaste that reminds me of nail polish remover. Not terrible after you get used to it.
