From Teavana

Inspired by the world’s best rich red wines, this most luxurious green rooibos blend is a symphony of sweet and fruity. The blush of red grapes, blackberry, cranberry and black currant blend beautifully, creating a scarlet red hue. Creamy madagascar vanilla, sweet orange and hibiscus flowers finish off heady, rich flights of fancy. SUPERFRUIT ENHANCED

Sweet and crisp grape, blackberry and cranberry flavor with a smooth vanilla finish.

Ingredients: Grapes, hibiscus flowers, green rooibos, grape slices, citrus peels, plum pieces (plum, rice flour), black currants, blackberries, natural and artificial flavoring, red currants, morello cherries, stevia leaves, vanilla pieces

The tea itself is quite appealing, it has a lovely aroma, and a beautiful bright red color. However, the taste is a different story. I didn’t think it was possible for tea to be sweet and tart at the same time…. It’s actually really gross. It tastes like medicine, that artificial-cherry-medicine flavor from all those weird fruits in there.

However, this blends well with French Spice Quartet (in my opinion) or you could mix a basic chai tea with it, and it will drown out the sweetness and artificial taste!

I have to admit, the name of this tea caught my eye. I love the idea of alcohol-inspired teas and in this case I couldn’t pass it up. I met a lot of people that don’t like this one. But I like the bold richness of the berries and vanilla. I thought about serving this in a wine glass.

I adore this flavor of blended teas. Its fruity, full, sweet and a great pick-me-up. The scent is also just fantastic. It tastes almost like a mix of tea and fruit juice…its just fantastic. I’m definitely a fan.

I’m starting to think Teavana’s strong point is not describing their teas. This is a lovely fruit tea which apparently has rooibos in it, the undetectable kind. It does not taste like a deep, rich red wine, rather a muscadine. Not a bad thing, actually, but worlds away from a wine you would dare call “Opus.” I have a SodaStream and am thinking this tea would be delicious with some light carbonation over ice. I’m also looking forward to blending it with a black tea or even a small amount of Lapsang Souchong.

Trying this one again and enjoying. I mixed it with some oolong and black tea. There is still an aroma that reminds me of bubble gum — fruity grapish bubble gum. Mixing it with the oolong and black tea brought some lovely tannins and florals to the fruit and gum flavors which pulled it out of the juice and candy realm for me. I could get used to this, but it’s still not my favorite.
