Ha ha ha so last night had time with my daughter so we went to the mall cause she had dinner and I had not. So we swing in I wanted to see if they still had any of their clearance teas left to I could pick up some more Assam. Unfortunately they did not. So I decided I wanted to give this one a whirl. So while we are waiting my daughter and I are looking around. She remember that she liked the one tea before and she like looking at the books there. So I just over hear a conversation that one the employees is having with a customer about how he heard about tea and what not. He is totally clueless because the salesperson has convinced him to buy a full tea set….yep she is totally working the sale. I was so tempted to say dude lets chat a bit you don’t need that much to make a great cup of tea. Not to mention I found my tea set that I think looks awesome and I break out for company for 14 dollars at one of the Asian markets. I didn’t though cause I know that person is trying to make money just as much as if I were trying book a couple for a wedding. I thought it was pretty funny though. So I get my cup and we go perusing the rest of the mall. So we go check out the Lego store. I’m letting my cup cool a little bit and taking a few sips. I’m chatting with the salesperson about how I had the original Lego pirate ship before it was Pirates of the Caribbean. So as it’s cooling I’m starting to pick out the flavors. A little bit of pineapple here. A little fig and pear there. A hint of sweetness. Then….dag nab it. I said to myself seriously Teavana. Put a little oolong and cinnamon in there and you have the Toasted Nut Brulee. I think I may have to start compiling a list. If you like this tea from Teavana…try it’s herbal counterpart(my apologies for snarkiness). Honest to Pete man the more teas I try. The more I’m starting to ask where’s generating a whole new wonderful mind expanding flavor profile if everything tastes the same. I’m sorry but adding or subtracting one derivative does not constitutes “Tea Blending Genius”. I’m ranting aren’t I. Don’t get me wrong Teavana has some wicked awesome blends and I’m sold…but…yeah. Overall tasty I didn’t get much cocoa though. Just the praline tart.

This maybe my longest review yet. Cheers

I liked it. Write more long one. :)

Thanks I will do my best.

Lego store??? Sometimes living in a small town has serious drawbacks. No lego store and no tea shops with pushy sales people :(

The DJBooth

It was the first Lego store I have really seen but this mall is in a very affluent area. I don’t shop there normally.

Steven Cook

Thanks for the review. Which teavana do you shop at? There is a Teavana at the kenwood mall and there is a lego shop right down the hall, on the first floor. Just curious.

I am betting Beachwood….. ;)

I think that my previous reviews for this got sucked somewhere into the abyss. Either way, it’s sip down time! I’m trying desperately to clean out the remaining of my non-jarred teas in order to give my tea area a cleaner feel.
This one smells so strong! I get why I like it every once in a while, but I don’t think this could be an every day tea for me. My husband enjoys this one more than some of my other ones. This is actually the second time I’ve bought 2oz of this tea. I think this is greatly due to the fact that this tea is considerably cheaper than some of the others offered by Teavana. Overall it smells and tastes like chocolate fig concoctions. I’m not sure about the tart part, but overall it’s pretty good.

Tried a cup of this iced last night at my local Teavana. The flavors blend together really well even if doesn’t sound like they should. The fig and chocolate are the stars here and boy do they play nice together. This is one I might consider picking up next time I am in.

Upping my rating because this blend really grew on me. A little bit of salt really adds to the flavor. I will be repurchasing this one.

Another great sample from Fairyfli. Thank you!

Admission time…this was actually my first cup of Teavana. I did lightly sweeten the cup. I have to admit, it was pretty tasty. Sweet and dessert-like, and a rooibos done well. Maybe a little over the top with all the flavors going on, but when you are thinking dessert, it totally works. (I use teas like this as a subsitute for sweets….I know some blends have a little sugar in them, but it is minimal in comparison to real dessert!) I am happy that I have enough for one more mug. I may even make it into my local store one day.

This tea is almost really nice but not quite. I find myself liking the idea of it more than the drinking of it. It seems to have a lot of sugar in it, and there’s a very sweet initial flavour, but the sugar disappears, leaving a sharp after-taste of pineapple or fig. I think it’s only in contrast to the initial sweetness that the fruit is so sharp, but it seems jarring to me. I won’t buy this again.

Got this tea yesterday. Wanted to see how a Teavana store that I hadn’t been to, but had heard bad things about…(pushy sales associates.) But that went fine. I played the part of someone kind of clueless about tea, but had a list of what I wanted to get: More Zingiber Ginger Coconut, (Even though I had gotten more on monday, I just had a weird inclination to want to see my canister of Zingiber full. lol. I know, I’m weird.) 2 of the smallest canisters that the store has, and smell test a few others ones to pick at random, (namely the under $7 ones.) The random one turned out to be the Cocoa Praline Tart. And as always, I had to try it when I got home.
As mentioned before in my tastings notes, I like to be WOW!ed, unfortunately, it did not wow me. Though I am willing to concede that may have been because of the milk that I added. Today when I got up, I decided to pair it with my Zingiber. Meh. Even less inspiring. this time, did not add milk but I did forget to check the time, and didn’t really keep an eye on it. Hmm, I think I will try another cup, just by itself, see how that goes.

I dont know what it is about this tea but it smells AMAZING. I can’t stop smelling it. I want it as an air freshener! I just stocked up on a bunch of this rooibos, its one of the teas that made me fall in love with rooibos. personal favourite :) I like to leave it steeping in a tea pouch with some vanilla soy milk!

Wonderfully balanced tea. Nothing jumps out at you but everything is playing quite nice in the flavor department. You taste subtle hints of various flavors, especially vanilla. No need for any sweetners here. Since it has Honeybush and Rooibos it would actually be a somewhat healthy tea!

The flavors in this are well balanced, but…it’s just not to my liking. I was expecting more of a cocoa taste and the fig one is what dominates…it’s done well, but not my thing.
