From Teavana

Smooth infusion with bergamot overtones

Famously highbrow and high grown, our Earl Grey is a top-of-the-tier timeless classic. Aromatic bergamot adds a refined tart citrus taste to this dark, full-lead tea with prized tiny silver tips.

Use 1-1.5 tsp of tea per water. Heat water to 195-205 degrees (90-96 degrees Celsius) and steep for 2-3 minutes.

Ingredients: Black tea, artificial flavoring

The dry leaves smell absolutely incredible, however, following the Teavana steeping suggestions leaves a pretty mild flavor, I prefer something stronger. Next cup, I think I’ll add a bit more than 1 tsp of tea and steep for 3:30 or longer.

Certainly not the best Earl Grey I’ve had, but it is the only Earl Grey that I have. I do find the teavana brewing suggestions to not make any sort of drinkable cup, and brew with my usual earl Grey timings and temps, boiling for four minutes, and it almost tastes like a normal EG cup

Bland. Conventional. Pedestrian. A first-class earl grey should be an important staple that every good large tea company should strive for. Teavana with their premium prices and the self-important feel that their brand portrays falls flat here. This is a tea that is a slight step above your average teabag earl grey, but far from the better loose leaf earl greys out there. The flavors lack punch. There is no vibrancy. It’s drinkable, yet dull. Teavana should do better, and you the consumer can do better. Move along.

This is ok for a basic earl grey. I always think I should like it better than I do.
