From TeaSource

Sweet, smooth, and summery. Those are your first impressions when you sip this sencha based green tea. The aroma of fresh mangos rises from the steeped cup, and the tea itself is smooth, sweet, and silky and brings to mind tropical breezes on desert islands. This tea is wonderful when made hot, and incredible when made iced.

The pickiest, snarkiest green tea I ever attempted to get along with—an Assam green—came from Teasource. The temp had to be exactly adjusted to the one-one hundredth of a degree and the time within .001 millisecond to keep from being so bitter it’d take the skin off your tongue. I never did get it right.

So my expectations were kinda low with this sample.

Steeped it at the office, so I couldn’t be too exacting, but with steaming rather than boiling water and a 3 minute steep, the base came out tasting like green tea should taste. Ditto with the mango. The AC is still flaky, so I put it immediately on ice and it’s pretty pleasant!

Monday 3/29/21 — TeaSource Green Mango. Another IVTF (International Virtual Tea Festival) 2020 sample in my box of goodies. Shockingly making the 12g sample packet into a full DT perfect pitcher for cold-brew turned out light and refreshing (as I love about green teas :)) but also could taste the mango right along with the green tea. Finished the pitcher today. No offense Teavana/DT (I love both brands) but I’m learning that sometimes even a smaller amount of tea can still be powerful as hot or cold (plain or latte), it doesn’t have to be heaps of product to still be delicious. Not going to make the “keep around permanently” list but was so nice during the upswing of warm weather. (And the joy of spring in Ohio, USA—to keep up with tea/clothes/life with weather going up and down with such mood swings!)

I may have found my new favorite summer iced tea! The dry leaf smells delicious and the brewed tea does not disappoint. The base is smooth and silky with a nice natural sweetness and the mango flavor is spot-on.
