From Teaopia

This exquisite flowering tea is fully produced by hand with silver needle Green Tea leaves, jasmine, lily, marigold and lemon essence. A tea that is as beautiful to look at as it is to drink. May be infused 2-3 times.

This tea is definitely more about looks and the gimmick. Flavor isn’t great. It’s too weak when you just make it, and waaaaay too bitter after it’s been left for a bit.
It makes a quirky gift, but I’d say stick to loose jasmine and green teas.

I love flowing teas. Try short steeps around 45 sec at 170 degees. At 3rd steep, gradually increase steep time and temp. I usually get 5 quality steeps.

I am a big fan of flowering teas, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that Teaopia sells a box of 8 for $5 (presumably because they need to change stock now that they’re owned by Teavana).

Anyway, this tea is gorgeous! It’s hand-rolled into a hard little ball, but when dropped into boiling water, it blooms into a delicate orange and pale yellow bouquet. (Now that I learned to keep the lid on the teapot while brewing, this took me all of 4 minutes.) The description says “lemon essence”, but I’m also picking up a bit of mint — perfect, really. It’s calming and energizing, and best of all, steepable up to 4 times (I’m on my second teapotful)!
