From Tealux

Only from Tealux, this specially blended Pu- Erh Earl Grey tea is a unique twist on a British favourite.

Earl Grey tea was named for England’s second Earl Grey during the 1830’s, after a new tea blend was presented to him as a gift by an envoy from China. Although traditional Earl Grey tea consists of a simple blend of black tea and bergamot oil (extracted from the rind of the bergamot citrus fruit) fine tea blenders and tea connoisseurs have developed their own blends and variations over the years, and we think you will agree that Tealux’s Pu- Erh Earl Grey tea really is something special.

Composed of a deep and sweet yet slightly smoky signature Pu- Erh base, the addition of white peony tea with its full bodied hints of melon are overlaid by the delicious and pervading scents of fresh bergamot Earl Grey flavoring to produce an aromatic and refreshing loose leaf tea blend.

Brews up a rich dark earthy pu-erh with notes of Earl Grey Bergamot. Very tasty but I couldn’t detect the White Peony tea. It seems to get lost in the richness of the Pu-erh tea. This tea is brewed at a lower temperature than other pu-erh teas but it still might be too hot for the white tea. I might try this again brewing at a lower temp to see if I can detect the white peony tea. Otherwise , it’s still a great robust tea.
