So I drank this today, and it was black tea. That’s about all I can say since I can’t breathe or taste anything. I think it’s a combination of allergies and a cold, because at some point in the middle of the night I got up and fetched a ginormous fluffy comforter and added it to the bed because I was cold. … … … I don’t even know what to say about that.

I haven’t been posting reviews the last couple of days because the end of the month ate my brain and all I can manage is a drooling, “tea..tea” as a description.

So HELLO AUGUST 1! I might celebrate by stopping work at noon today. My husband wants to play a board game later and I told him I would IF he would do Gong Fu with me at the same time. Mua ha ha. So that’s the plan.

Cheri

That sounds like fun!

Hope you are feeling better.

Stephanie

That sounds like a fun afternoon. Enjoy your gonfu :)

Good blackmailing skills Marzi.

I think it’s allergies, I’m having it myself. Allegra is very smooth and not drowsy. Feel better!

Miss Starfish

Awr, my boyfriend I do board games or computer games with a pot of tea quite often too. I’ve successfully weaned him onto tea (it took ages, but I love that we can share some together).

Hope you feel better soon! :(

Cheri

I take Allegra. I’ve been taking it since it was a prescription. I alternate between that and Claritin (which I’ve also been taking since it was a prescription.) They can only do so much. I should probably do allergy shots or something, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.

At least today my nose may be running, but I seem to be able to taste!

I took two teas to work today. This black for the morning and some oolong for the afternoon. I was anticipating liking this one, but not the oolong. As it turns out I liked the oolong better (see previous note in my log).
This did not work for me at all. First cup was WAY TOO STRONG, WAY TOO ASTRINGENT – suck the moisture out of your mouth – bitter coffee ish. OK – need to adjust.
Second cup – less leaf, way shorter steep time. Not as offensive, not as in your face, but still not to my liking.
This might be a really nice tea, if you are into this style. I prefer China blacks. I’m not the correct judge for this – all I know is that it’s not for me.
Thanks TheTeaFairy for sending this my way, but it was a miss. Weird that I would like a green oolong better than a black. Something strange is going on in my world…..

TheTeaFairy

Oh, I hope I didn’t write the wrong parameters on it. I brew it at 90 usually. It’s so funny, I find it smooth, that’s why I sent it to you ;-) It is very different from other blacks though, I can understand why you may not be fond of it.

Dexter

Water at work is 90-95C ish something like that – On the package you wrote 95C 3-4 minutes. I ended up with less than a tsp/coffee mug with about 1 minute steep – anything more than that was just too strong for me – that’s ok, can’t win them all :))

Today is one of those days that involves a lot of cramping and watching the Avengers. I needed a tea that could simultaneously coddle me and kick me hard enough to get me moving…this one fit the bill pretty nicely.

It’s a nice mid-range black. Not as strongly pushy as some of my breakfast blends and not as soft as some of my flavoured blacks…this just sits right at the intersection of yes, I’m awake and let me sit here and sip on you a while, you pretty thing.

A bit of sugar in the cup mellowed it out beautifully. I think it’d go really well with milk, also, but I’m not in the mood to try it out today…

Good cup, though, and I’m definitely enjoying it. Whenever I order from Teajo again – and I’m sure I will – this one will likely wind up in the basket…it’s not the best black I’ve ever had, but it’ll solid enough that I’d like to keep it in my cabinet as a way to introduce new drinkers without making them a cup of something I’m really in love with.
