From TeaGschwendner

A treasured tea from southern Anhui Province, Keemun is grown and produced near the famous Huang Shan mountains. This selection represents one of the finest grades available, boasting a velvety mouth feel and subtle notes of cocoa, leather and wet earth. The sienna cup is understated, yet noble.

This smells like a black tea but also a little like Cocoa – then I read both the product description and Dax’s review and noticed I wasn’t going crazy! It’s supposed to smell like that apparently! Woot!

Mini Cup, again…

VERY flavorful! It’s almost like a Slightly Smokey Cocoa with a masculine flavor to it. Very different and quite good.

Absolutely wonderful keemun! Smooth, sweet, mildly floral, with the cocoa and wet earth notes in the vendor’s description. Both the first and second infusions were flavorful, and quite sweet enough on their own. A lovely cup of tea.

This is still one of the best Keemuns I’ve tried.

What a well-balanced Keemun! Just the right amount of smokey/leathery richness balanced by a bright sparkle that keeps the tea from becoming too burdensome. If you had a stable of motorcyles, this would be your go-to ride, the bike that gives you a lot of riding pleasure and is always reliable. Maybe not the fastest and most exotic, but also not a heavy cruiser that you have to wrestle around. An exemplary Keemun, that (along with Upton’s Keemun Mao Feng) would be the perfect addition to anyone’s cupboard.

Not in a while, but I remember it as an incredible tea. I might have to order some again.

Aquired this tea from The Tea Haus in Ann Arbor, MI. Found it to be a very good breakfast tea to have with Fresh Fruit and Croissants. The liquor is a dark amber color and the taste is pleasing. Will add this to my favorite goto teas for morning.
