The initial impression given by this tea is one of delicate and small leaves of almost uniform size with an aroma of freshly brewed hot chocolate. They are attractive and tippy, the scent is sharp and spicy like our other muscatel teas but with a sharp strength. The muscatel taste is most pronounced and becomes stronger with second steeping resulting in a slightly strong after taste. This Sungma makes a full cup with a flowery finish (similar to Jungpana) which is probably the best muscatel of this season.
Situated at an elevation of 1155m above sea level, Sungma estate is famous for its china hybrid teas and produces about 10% of Darjeeling quality clones. The climatic conditions mostly results in a very delicate aroma and mellow liquor of tea.
