From Tea Story

Caffeine free, soft aromatic infusion. Distinctly floral, tea-like flavour and aroma with honey/caramel touch. Sweet & mellow “red tea”, similar to rooibos, but naturally sweeter with honey or caramel notes. The taste of our honeybush tea is similar to that of rooibos, though arguably a little sweeter.

The honeybush also originates in South Africa, in this case the mountainous regions. It is a member of the Papilionaceae family, with aromatic leaves and distinctive yellow blossoms which give off a subtle scent that draws honeybees by the thousands. It is finely chopped and then heated to better release the aroma.

When infused, the honeybush creates a flavourful, slightly sweet and copper-coloured tea; just like the rooibos tea, it is caffeine-free.

Where Rooibos is lightly sweet and fruity, Honeybush is a stronger, bolder version. Seems to be a very neutral tea, neither acidic or astringent. The taste is a little more rounded. It’s a very interesting flavour, almost a bit pine-y, and both light and soothing. Sooo good! It’s my favourite of the red teas. It also tastes great iced.
