Somehow this tastes fruity even though there aren’t any fruity ingredients. Maybe I’m tasting anise. It’s not very chai-like, mostly just lightly sweet. Not a bad tea, but it doesn’t match its name. Really it’s so fruity. Though other reviewers aren’t noticing this. Maybe I got a weird batch..

#adventageddon Day 11 – 2/5

Not sure how I would have felt about this tea if I didn’t already have such a stuffy nose and hindered sense of taste, but I actually found it pretty nice this morning. It was peppery and gingery enough that I was able to get the flavour from the cup, and the warming spices actually helped clear my sinuses a fair bit – so it was pretty feed good for me today. Happy to have broken the streak of bad teas from Tea Revv, as well.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings though.

Tea Revv Advent Calendar – Day 13

(originally written November 13th)

So this should be interesting – I don’t generally like red rooibos or chai much.

Wow, this is really heavy on the pepper. I can’t really taste much else other than the rooibos itself, even though there are several other spices in here. The beginning of the sip just tastes like red rooibos, and then the pepper hits near the end and in the aftertaste, and it’s strong enough to make my mouth tingly.

Nope, this is not for me. I think I will give it a rating though because, objectively, who would want a black pepper rooibos blend? XD

Black pepper is one of my favourite chai spices and I love rooibos chais haha

I don’t mind it in conjunction with other spices, but by itself it’s a bit strange LOL.

This one is heavy on the pepper and red rooibos. There are other spices in there but these two flavors are pretty overwhelming. I do appreciate a chai that’s supposed to be spicy, actually being spicy, but I don’t much care for this one. The balance is just too off.

Holy pepper! This really hits you in the back of the throat with a whole lotta spice. I also get a lot of the rooibos base which works well with the pepper. I also get the clove, cinnamon, and ginger bundled up in the spice. Its strong but nice enough.
