From Tea Mountain

Excellent alpine oolong from Mr. Lino’s beautiful gardens on Cui Feng Mountain, which is a neighbor of the more famous and higher Li Shan Mountain (often confused with this tea in the market because it is very similar in character). Strongly rolled oolong with a very low degree of oxidation and minimal baking, clear in the infusion, light green with a decent floral aroma. In the body, light, but full, the taste is smooth and sweet, more pronounced umami with aromatic tones of flowers and fruits with a hint of citrus (lime, lemon peel). An excellent representative of alpine oolongs.

Harvest time: end of October 2021

Area: Cui Feng, District Nantou (garden altitude around 1800 m above sea level)

Cultivar: Qing Xin

A superb gao shan oolong for a very reasonable price like this one is always nice to encounter! I love its smooth mouthfeel, and a mix of more brothy flavours on top of the floral ones. It is a well balanced tea, with sweet, savoury, and bitter notes of hops as well as grassy sourness.

Dry leaf aroma is milky with a strong floral sweetness, while wet leaves give a more seaweed like vibe.
