From Tea Guys

New England heirloom apples create the base for this delicious combination of tart apples and sweet, jammy figs. Hints of warming clove and star anise draw out the natural sweetness in this black tea blend. Wonderful iced or as a mildly spicy hot beverage. Try warm with a shot of Kentucky Bourbon to warm the soul on a cold winter night.

Here’s Hoping TTB

I had a cup of this with breakfast this morning. Unfortunately, I was running late for work, so I had to gulp it down and wasn’t able to notice much. Mostly apple flavor, not much fig, and quite astringent. I didn’t love it, but not going to rate since I didn’t really give it a fair trial.

Here’s Hoping Teabox – Round Six – Tea #2
This is the tea I’ve wanted to try for years, so I was happy to see it in the teabox. Sadly, it didn’t turn out anything like I thought or what the description mentioned. It’s hard to describe! The rooibos wasn’t really necessary along with the black tea, though I remember saying years ago I’d like to see more black/rooibos combinations, I don’t really see the point now. Haha. I would love a nice woodsy (maybe that is the point of the rooibos? Literal woodsy?) apple and fig tea, so maybe this one would be better to try fresher.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug// 14 minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 4 minute steep

I remembered loving this one and felt like mixing it up a little this morning..
Unfortunately, it seems like the flavor really changes as it ages :/ It was pretty appley today and a bit tannic, the fig flavor to me was fading a bit but overall it was still okay. Definitely not as good as it was previously.

I smell more fig than apple but both flavors come through pretty strongly. Sweet but not sweetened. I think I prefer Summer Cherry Fig from Capital Teas. All of this sample will be used, but I probably wouldn’t replace it.
