From Taylors of Harrogate

Organic Chamomile
Tea Bags

Chamomile is appreciated by many for its comforting, soothing taste and delicate aroma. Since it is naturally caffeine free, it makes the ideal bedtime drink. We buy organically-grown chamomile for the best purity and flavour.

For the perfect cup we recommend that you use one tea bag. Add freshly boiled water and infuse for 3-4 minutes. Our Pure Chamomile should be served without milk and can be sweetened with sugar or honey.

One of my Daisy GS gifted me a sampler box for Christmas. It was very unexpected and so sweet of her family to think of me (I need to write that Thank you!). After a long day of post Christmas meltdowns with the littles, some wine and now some Chamomile are in order.

Apparently, this is the #1 Best Seller for Tea Samplers on Amazon (evil empire). The price point is decent. I’ve never heard of this company (I seem to say that quite a bit) and glad for the chance to try something new!

So this is the first tea bag I’ve used out of the sampler, the tea bag was ripped when I took it out of the foil. Did I do it? Maybe. But I was just checking out reviews online and others have reported this. Hmmm

The tea it self makes me feel like a comfy blanket is being wrapped around me. Perhaps the wine is helping that or maybe it is the actual comfy blanket on my lap. But I’m going to say all three (wine, blanket, and tea) have helped to relax me.

I would/will drink this chamomile again (likely without a prior wine course) and have a better sense of the tea. It seems to be an okay chamomile tea with nothing exciting to it.

This is a straightforward chamomile tea. Difficult taste to describe but if you have brewed it in the past you are likely already familiar with this flowery, herbacious and slightly sweet infusion.

The Taylor’s reminds me of my mother, who religiously bought Celestial Seasonings teas for me in my youth. This was perfect for teatime in the late evening as it is more of a health benefit with no caffeine. I would have no qualms sharing a cup of this tea with her so as far as I am concerned it passes the test to be enjoyed. Chamomile is not my favorite, but for the nostalgia if nothing else, I must say it is fine.

What can you say about bagged chamomile?

It’s a decent chamomile bag. Fresh, not woody. On the Chamomile Flavor Spectrum®, this one lies more toward the earthy end than the apple end. Good enough to drink again.

That it loved Bach and the Beatles? LOL

If only the teabag had told me its music preferences before I drank it out of existence, then I would have been inclined to rate it higher.

Last night I made this one. I am not a fan of chamomile, but it’s supposed to help relax you, right? This didn’t taste absolutely horrible, but it wasn’t my fave. Again, I don’t like chamomile, so it’s probably not fair for me to even rate this. Do you have suggestions for calming, soothing evening teas?

I find that rooibos works for me. Flavoured or unflavoured. I think it’s the Magnesium in it that works as a relaxant. It works better for me than other bed time Teas.

I’m not a huge fan of rooibos, but I do have two from Lupicia, Captain Kidd, and Golden Melon. I’ll give the melon a try tonight. Thanks yyz!

I’m a big Tulsi fan.

Maddy Barone

I haven’t heard of Tulsi. i’ll have to give that one a look up. Thanks!

I get mine very inexpensively by the ounce at local health food/indie grocery place. Tastes to me a little like lemon and cloves. Very few herbal remedies unknot my knots—this helps, although it doesn’t put me to sleep.

I drank this tea last night and I really don’t know what to make of it. The taste was so-so to say the least. I still have some experimenting to do with this tea. I may have had the water too hot so I really do need to give it a chance before I give up on it. But so far, this tea is bleh.
