mmmm thank you beelicious This is a really nice malty, vanilla, breakfast tea. I am a fan! There isn’t much else to say about it beyond the fact that it’s just a really decent offering from T2. Someday i’ll get back to Oz so that i can tea shop there too! haha

This is definitely my staple breakfast tea. I adore Melbourne Breakfast!
You get the benefits of a breakfast tea but with a hint of vanilla. This tea can be brewed either on its own or with milk and sweetener (I use soy milk and honey!). This is a great tea for someone who usually drinks English Breakfast but want’s to try something new and different. If you like English Breakfast, you’ll love Melbourne Breakfast!

Who says you can’t have a breakfast tea in the afternoon?

This one has a lovely vanilla aroma in addition to that fragrance distinct to black tea itself—an intoxicating combination. It brews up quite dark, and is lusciously smooth. The tea base is excellent and full-bodied, with just a hint of the Yunnan “fuzziness” in it. The vanilla is perfect, and the whole thing has a honey sweetness to it that’s just right. Thank you beelicious for sharing this sample with me, especially since it seems to be one of your favorites too!

Sounds fantastic!

It is! On second thought though, maybe it was too strong for afternoon…kept me vibrating for quite a while!

I first tried this tea as a sample sachet in one of T2’s Selfie boxes (which are excellent when you want to try a tea without committing). Melbourne Breakfast was a real standout for me. It is a black tea with a vanilla flavour woven in that really is wonderful and a perfect tea to wake you up start the day. I always ensure I have a supply of this tea on demand (which is quite frequently).

As you can see from my earlier reviews, I was very skeptical about T2. I have to admit that the smell and look of a lot of these teas did not do them justice. You must taste to believe! I have sincerely been enjoying each one of the flavored black teas included in my sampler set.

Which brings us to today’s. Melbourne Breakfast is a perfect breakfast tea. It reminds me a bit about everything I loved in Harney’s Paris tea the first time I tried it. Straightforward, balanced, not too harsh, and a nice warm vanilla on the finish.

Simple and delightful. Might need to make its way into my morning rotation.

This was a total impulse buy. On a bright and sunny day, I was ill and freezing at work. What I wouldn’t do for some hot tea.
T2 had just released their awesome tea flasks; the black one with the built-in infuser and leak-proof lid. It was limited and it’ll be a while before they come back instore again.
The moment I saw it I was like, ‘that is so mine.’ Then I asked the girl if she minded brewing something inside the flask for me, gosh I felt so cold and sick, and it really made my day when she handed it back with Melbourne Breakfast.
Went back to the store later in the day feeling much better and bought a 100 gram box.
Tastes like a chocolate croissant with vanilla sugar. Having said that, I wouldn’t say this is a sweet tea. It’s actually a little bitter but in a refreshing way, and it can get astringent if oversteeped but yay to T2 for making awesome loose leaf blends readily available in Australia!

I love this tea! It is a gorgeously sweet black tea and I often enjoy a cup with milk as a late night sweet treat instead of chocolate or cake.

So I had read all the hype about Melbourne Breakfast on Steepster, and there is a just-opened T2 down the road. But I already have a vanilla and rose flavoured black, and a vanilla and strawberry favoured green. Really, it’s best that I exercise a little discipline. But then, lo! Left in the communal kitchen area of my workplace was a huge, Free-To-Good-Home pile of Melbourne breakfast tea bags! Well, this was a little different to the usual bench offerings I must say. I haven’t seen loot like this since the day some anonymous Green Thumb plonked several paddocks worth of fresh basil, parsley and mint on the table in adorable brown paper bags. The vanilla note is clear and warming, the black bold and fresh. I may have grabbed a larger-than-fair handful and stashed it under my desk for later.

i enjoy a black tea with rich flavours in it such as the melbourne breakfast tea by t2. the first aroma on brewing the tea is a delicate honey vanilla which isn’t as overpowering as the madagascan vanilla tea by t2 (striclty vanilla flavoured) . It is strong enought to start your day off with or enjoy after a long day at work. i prefer taking my tea with a hint of milk and a pinch of sugar. i found this tea to be very similar to the creme brulee tea by T2 except that it lacks the nuttiness and toffee flavouring of the creme brule. all i all a terrific tea, which i regularly stock in my kitchen.

I rated this quite badly originally but I need to rate it based on what it is, which is a breakfast tea with a bit of a twist, and this one is lovely and comforting with a bit of vanilla and a bit of smoke—enough to add interest to a mug of tea and a splash of milk, a bit of sweetness without needing sugar (I was brought up having my breakfast teas with sugar, it’s an unlearning process).

Having a mug of this on a rainy autumn morning with a pot of soup on the stove. I’m doing it right.

Rainy autumn morning?! Took me far too long this morning to register how that was possible, remembering that there is a whole other side of the planet and not a weird Steepster glitch. I have not yet had enough caffeine!

Memily

Hahahaha bless these hemispheres. We always get forgotten down here!

I should know better too! I used to live in Sydney and Perth. :)
