From T2

This light, soft and soothing herb blend is for when the day is done and sweet dreams are all that is left. Gentle lemony mintiness from lemon balm combines with the sweet perfume of rose, lavender and jasmine. Calming and quiet, warming, mild and muted, this is a glorious way to say goodnight.

Ingredients: Lemonbalm, lavender, jasmine blossoms, rose petals

Brewing Guide: 1 tsp per cup, 3-5 min, 100 C (212 F)

I think this tea tastes a bit soapy from the lavender, and overall I didn’t enjoy drinking this. I tried to get through a cup but couldn’t finish it.

This is the best remedy to sleeplessness I have tried so far and I have tried many most remedies even herbal leave you with restless and disturbed sleep and a feeling of a hangover the next morning.

But this is very effective at slowing down thinking – allowing for a feeling of restfulness and I’ve found sleep generally follows about 1 – 1 1/2 hours later.

I also find this tea very effective at giving you a short burst of feeling full which can be useful if you get an attack of the munchies before tea-time or just before going to bed. But it is a very short burst and so wouldn’t recommend as a main reason to drink this.

The lemonbalm provides a minty after-taste and the initial taste is an undefined sweet warmth. I highly recommend trying this herbal tea.

FYI: T2 says not to be taken remedially on the box.

Adventaggedon Day 22: Tea 3/8

Why so mannnyyyy sleep teas!?

This wasn’t great but I’m gonna blame that almost entirely on my personal tastes and not the tea itself. It was just a little too bland and very, very floral. Kind of a perfumey heady type of lavender with a hint of jasmine and some citrus undertones. Not a lot going on aside from that but I can see why some people would find this soothing and how it would make for a good evening/nighttime type of blend…

Advent Day 22

Lots of herbs in this one. Kind of tastes like my spice rack. Lavender, mint… maybe oregano. A little fennel to sweeten it. It has a dry feel to the taste and leave a dry feeling in my mouth. I feel really eh about it.

Meh. This tea came as part of a sampler set. The base was quite nice but the floral notes and the lemon balm did not work well together. It was lavender heavy on the taste and the other floral notes were missing. I didn’t realize it had jasmine and other flowers until I read the ingredients.

May Flowers! Time for another of my T2 sampler stash. This tea has a lemon balm base (which I enjoy much more than lemon grass, though not quite as much as lemon myrtle), and has three different florals in it: lavender, rose petal, and jasmine blossoms. Since I’m a big lavender fan, I was happy to see there was a lot of lavender in the dry leaf of my sampler.

The scent of the tea comes off a little bit like chamomile, but the flavor is very different; it’s a subtle citrusy base, with a minty floral lavender top note, and a softer, sweet floral finish. Lemon, mint, and lavender notes are the most notable flavors in the cup. I find the tea very sweet and soothing, and would recommend it to those that like a strong lemon-lavender flavor profile in a tea.

My boyfriend’s mum bought me this tea for christmas, I was a bit a hestitant on drinking it as I’m generally not a fan on herbal teas. This tea is not sweet regardless of how it’s described. Despite not being sweet the tea isn’t too gross for me but I doubt I’ll brew this tea as often as my other teas.
The smell of the tea isn’t appealing to me either, it kind of reminds me of the scent of chamomile, and if you know me, you would know I hate chamomile tea. So that was not a plus. I would recommend this to someone who likes herbal and floral teas, especially those who enjoy chamomile.

A great soothing herbal tea, definitely a relaxing way to end the day. It’s a very easy to drink herbal tisane, with a nice green colour and the touch of lemon balm and jasmine ensure a lovely sleep.

So I have just discovered that if you stand around in T2 for long enough agonising over which bedtime tisane will cure your early morning wakefulness, they make you go away by giving you sweet little pouches to try.

Lemon balm is the primary thrust, and it is something that actually has some evidence behind it as a calming agent. They didn’t have pure lemon balm. Maybe it tastes like crap?

This one has other floralities; the waft of the wares touted by silver-haired sales ladies at the school fete…which is the lavender I suppose. It is a pretty little tea to be kept in glass. I often struggle a bit with the herbals…I have settled into this one and I like it for quiet sipping. Let’s see how long I stay asleep tonight.
