Description

Origin: Shizuoka, Japan

Sencha with Matcha represents the harmony between the old and the new: matcha powder and fresh sencha. This blended tea provides matcha’s sweetness with the first cup and sencha’s fresh flavour with the second cup. Multiple infusions.

Sencha is the most popular tea in Japan, accounting for almost 80% of the tea consumed. The top part of tea leaves and buds are used to produce sencha. It is grown in full sunlight and is processed in multiple stages: sifting, cutting, roasting and often blending. Sencha is noted for its delicate sweetness, mild astringency and flowery-green aroma.

Matcha powder green tea is famed for the Tea Ceremony. Tea bushes are carefully grown under the shade for about one month prior to spring harvesting in order to protect them from sunlight. This brings out an extraordinary sweet taste with no bitterness. The manufactured tencha leaves are slowly ground to produce a fine green powder. Matcha has a wonderful aroma, silky froth, and rich mellow taste. Extremely high in antioxidants.
