When I tore into the package – I tore right through the filter bag, so into the French Press it goes.

The tea itself looks pretty boring, just small brown leaf pieces. But it smells, well, like rainbow sherbet. There’s no pretense of ‘real fruit flavors’ here but it wouldn’t be rainbow sherbet if there were.

I brewed it at 200F for 3 min in about .75L.

The cold aroma is muted fruit, but it tastes great. There’s the orange, lime and raspberry with cream and some sweetness. It’s a little like adding melted sherbet like a syrup to iced tea but in a good way.

If this is any indication to what 52teas has in store, I can’t wait for the next one.

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – April 2023 Tea #3 – A finicky tea

This is definitely what I think of as a finicky tea!  Basically because I only steep it for 45 seconds on that first steep, so the black tea doesn’t overpower the SPOT ON flavors of sherbet here — with the lime, orange, and raspberry equally represented.  Quite possibly my favorite from SBT.  It will be missed.

Some of those Southern Boy iced teas were magical. Tea, Earl Grey, Hot and Razzleberry were astounding.

Sipdown! 141/365!

Contrary to the other Rainbow Sherbet I just drank, this one is fantastic. I have been hoarding a stash of SBT teabags (not intentionally) and figured that although I’ll never be able to replace them, it’s time to drink them before they lose all flavour. Lucky for me, this one tastes like it could have been freshly flavoured. Much more sherbetty than the DavidsTea version, it features lovely tangy fruit flavours with a very classic iced tea-type black base. That is to say, fairly bright and mild, though with some astringency. As a result, I ever-so-slightly sweetened it (with maple syrup) and the result was perfection. I had kind of intended to be brewing up these iced teas to share with my husband, but I admittedly have mostly hoarded this one to myself (I did resteep the teabag twice, though, sweetened it, and gave it to him, which he thought was pretty good).

I’m going to hope that I run across another of these in my journey through the tea stash, but it’s unlikely. Unless there’s one hiding in the iced tea 12 teas of Christmas that I never actually opened (I have no idea what’s in there – I should look…)

Thanks for making me believe in the flavor of this one…I just looked at the pouch of this in my stash the other day and was dreading opening it and finding the flavor gone. I will drink it soon!

Kittenna

I hope it’s still good for you! I’m currently mourning not having steeped this like 5 more times to coax out any remaining flavour. I miss it.

This is another one that just shocked me with its accuracy in flavor. I cold steeped, as I prefer my black iced teas that way, and for a few minutes I was able to forget the blistering cold and pretend like I was 10 years old at a pool party in July.

I bought this tea off the early kickstarter for SBT. I served it at my Thanksgiving party and it was a HUGE hit!

The rainbow sherbet flavor is dead on – it has that lime/orange/red taste is just like in the ice cream and is quite strong, with a classic southern black ice tea base. You don’t even need to add sugar to get the flavors to pop as they are already popping. I was surprised, as the group I was serving to aren’t big into teas, but loved this tea and didn’t take any sweetener when offered.

I would buy this again, maybe snag the loose leaf Rainbow sherbet 52 Teas if it’s around.

Yummy! Tastes a bit “sweet” due to the flavoring, without any actual sweetener in it or added. :-)

I’m pretty strict about the amount of caffeine my kids consume after school. They are both natural night owls, so giving them caffeine after noon is just asking for trouble. Since they are almost done with school (they still have a half day on Monday) and the first day of summer is tomorrow I decided to break out the SBT bag and let them choose a flavor. This eventually won out.

This tea does taste a lot like rainbow sherbet! It has a kind of mixed fruity sweetness and a creamy note that gives it a sherbet vibe. Both of my kids loved it immediately, and I have to say their mom downed her glass pretty quickly, too. Looks like this will be a reorder.

This one could give cotton candy (my kids’ favorite iced tea flavor of all time) a run for its money!

Marzipan

Oh good, I picked both with my kickstarter.

I made this tea according to the directions on the package and it was fabulous for work. It was so convenient. It did not need to be sweetened at all, but wasn’t sickly sweet. I got a lot of orange flavour in mine.
