China Jasmine Tea with many Blossoms

supplied in re-sealable “stay fresh” stand up pouches

This highly aromatic tea was produced using very good quality Pouchong Tea and beautiful sweet fragrant Jasmine flowers. The blossoms are picked in the morning when they are fresh and kept cool during the day to prevent them opening quickly. As the flowers start to open in the evening, they are piled next to the raw tea for about four hours to allow the perfume of jasmine flowers to be absorbed by the tea leaves. Then the tea is spread out and the process is repeated for a second and third scenting. The leaves are then fired to remove any moisture in the tea and a quite high proportion of the Jasmine blossoms are added to give extra scent and very attractive appearance.

Pouchong, used for producing this tea, is not truly green, yet not oolong and is another variety of very lightly fermented (12-18 per cent) teas. It is originated in Fujian province and is ideal as a base for Jasmine Tea as it has very delicate, sweet aroma and smooth flavour which marry easily with the sweet and soft Jasmine aroma.

China Jasmine Tea with Many Blossoms has an even leaf and a bright orange cup with a light, sweet and soft jasmine flavour. It can be served with your main fish, meat, game and poultry course or spicy food. Also is absolutely suitable as a tea-time drink.

Brewing method: Brew 1 teaspoon of Jasmine Tea per cup of 80C/176F water and infuse for 2-4 min. Best without milk and sugar.
