From Rosali Tea

Milk Oolong is a green oolong from the Jin Xuan cultivar, which means “golden lily”. Jin Xuan has a naturally fresh, sweet, and creamy flavor with a smooth buttery texture and floral aroma. This is a great tea for dessert lovers and helps to eliminate for milk and sugar in tea. This tea pairs well with fruit salad, dessert, sushi or white fish.

I love this tea! I could really taste the buttery, milky flavor. I wish it were a little less expensive.

Another sample from a tea friend trade. Working through the samples!

Green beany smelling, a fresher, higher quality leaf than I am used to smelling in a flavored milk oolong. The Jin Xuan green flavor is strong in the brew, making it bright and green tasting. Sometimes it’s oddly dark green and a little umami.

There’s a little of the caramel milk flavor, but it’s light. It manages to linger through the many steeps I took this through. Though it starts out with no apricot in the beginning, it grows much stronger later.

Thanks for a lovely sample, tea friend!

I won some free tea from Rosali tea, and this was in the box. I’ve never had a milk Oolong before, so I decided to give it a try. Based on this one, I can see why people like it but I don’t think it’s for me. It was like a very mild, buttery green tea. I’m not much of a green tea drinker, so it’s just not something I can see myself reaching for often. Very nice to try, though.

This has a really lovely creamy taste and is a very high-quality tea. The flavor lasted through 3 infusions, which I was really happy with! As you may have guessed, I am partial to oolongs, so I was not disappointed with this tea.

I’m more of a black tea drinker, but I love me some oolongs. I know that milky oolong teas are very popular, but I am under the impression that I have never had it steeped properly before. I met Rosa at the SF tea festival, and she had a fresh pot of milky oolong brewing.

When I took a sip of this tea, I was immediately struck at how smooth and creamy it was. If you’ve never had an oolong before, this is a fantastic one to venture into. The complexities of tea really comes out in the tea I sampled, and I also got some to try out myself when I got to work. It is a fantastic tea to have in the middle of the day.

Unfortunately, the hot water at work was WAY too hot and I couldn’t get the tea to steep correctly. Rosa kindly gave me tips on how long to wait to let boiling water cool before putting the tea leaves in, and eventually I just took it home where I had my variable water kettle. Once I brewed it properly, that creamy character was there. Total my bad on my part, but I can see why this is the most popular tea of her subscription.

This was the first tea that I had at the LA International Tea Festival and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rosa Li! She was so passionate about her teas and I am so happy that she got backed on Kickstarter :))

While speaking with her, I found out that this was her best seller, and after my first taste, I realized why! It is so smooth, complex, yet a very well balanced tea. Slight notes of butter since it slides on the tongue, bc of the creaminess of the tea. I ended up purchasing a 3oz tin of this tea and I am SO happy I got it!

I’m a several-month subscriber to Rosali Tea (through private subscriber round).

I’ve had different varietals of oolong before and this one is quite unique. It has a naturally creamy/buttery taste to it, which I’ve only seen in another oolong. Unlike most teas with unique flavors, the depth of the taste for this one lasts through the first 2 or 3 infusions.
