Natural Remedy for Stress :

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) has been used by herbalists to treat problems such as stress, fatigue and nervousnesss. Passionflower is used to treat sleeplessness on a temporary basis, as it helps to relax the body and allow the body to rest. Passionflower can also help the body to reduce pain, often used for menstrual discomfort, headaches, and toothaches.

Passionflower was first grown and used by Native Americans in the Southern United States. Passionflower has the flavone chrysin, which has wonderful anti-stress benefits.

The linden tree (tila) is known for its antispasmodic and sedative properties and has been used for treating tension headaches, sleeplessness, and high blood pressure. Linden is also used in colds, cough, fever, infections, inflammation, high blood pressure, headache (particularly migraine), as a diuretic (increases urine production), and antispasmodic (reduces smooth muscle spasm along the digestive tract)

While I enjoy passionflower, the lemongrass in this tea ruins the taste by overpowering it.

The cup smells citrusy with a strong finish of mint. The first note on the sip is the stevia with the mint rising up mid-sip and finishing up with the stevia again. This tea is meant to be relaxing, but it’s actually a bit energizing due to the mint and sugar. I wish they would leave the stevia out of the blend so that I could sweeten it to my own tastes. Hot, it tastes a bit too sweet for me. I’ve brewed some up for an iced tea and see if that’s more up my alley.

I’m staying up, waiting for my younger brother and sister to return from a concert in the city. I’ll sip on this while I finish up the last episode of “Orange is the New Black.” ^ _ ^
