Premium Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess) Oolong Tea (古法制做铁观音)

This tea is made by a traditional method, unlike new generation Tieguanyin that is greenish and it ought to be sealed to preserve the freshness. This tea, however, is aromatic, but less fragrance than its new generation counterpart, it’s great for aging.

It is one of our traditional high-grade tea products. Refined, with special curing techniques, from high-grade Ti Kuan Yin tealeaves, it is black bloom in color, with thick, ripe fragrance, heavy, mellow, sweet taste as well as distinct “IN” flavor, it can retain its unique flavor even after several times of brewing.

125g Tin Premium class Loose tea leaves Caffeine: Moderate

My TCM doctor gave me this maybe 10 years ago. He has since died so the tea is a treasure to me. Even though his English and my Mandarin are limited, we would sit and drink tea after my treatment. And in the silence there were smiles because we were sharing tea like two monks in a monastery. I am using this tea sparingly. What little I am using is bringing back memories of a man who was a respected doctor in China and was now busperson in a restaurant because of his limited English. The tea is relaxing and God knows I need it after drinking an unknown ginseng oolong last night which kept me up till 4am. I love the dark fruits and the subtle complexities of my aged oolong. I will buy this from the Puerh Shop but I will not drink this again for another 10 years. I will never forget Dr. Wu. Wo Ai Ni….

This is probably one of the darkest rolled oolongs that I’ve been blessed to drink that was not overroasted to the point of having a burnt taste to it. This Premium Tieguanyin tea brings a wonderful sensational experience upon each sip in the range of flavors that roll upon my tongue. During the initial start of the sip I experience the initial roasted taste before it fades away into a sweet mellow smoothness that lingers in my mouth. The later infusions maintain the same shift, although it slowly becomes less subtle as the roasted taste slowly fades out and the sweeter mellowness becomes more predominate in the tea. In the end I lost count of how many infusions I was able to enjoy out of the leaves but I can safely say that it was over 5 which was really impressive for such a dark tea.
