From Plum Deluxe

You’ve probably heard tea described as a ‘hug in a mug’ – but you won’t find tea that feels more like a hug than our cinnamon apple spice tea. Hints of spice with fresh apple and cinnamon with a fresh black tea will help you feel warmed, supported, and present in the moment. Think of it like apple cinnamon tea that tastes like a warm slice of mom’s coffee cake in a cup!

Ingredients: Black Tea, Cinnamon Chips, Apple Pieces, Orange Blossoms, Apple/Cinnamon Essences, Love, Gratitude.

Sipdown! (17 | 420)

Thanks Gabby, for another sample!

This kind of seems like the same tea as Simpson & Vail’s Apple Cinnamon Coffeecake. I’ll have to try that one later and compare.

Anyway, it’s a very pleasant sweet and somewhat buttery desserty tea with subtle apple and cinnamon notes. I feel like the coffee cake name is more apt, as the apple and cinnamon aren’t really the main flavors here. It does taste like a buttery crumble topping with a dash of cinnamon.

It’s almost more like a snickerdoodle tea really, considering the lack of apple? Still yummy though.

I really enjoy this blend, it’s the perfect blend for a cool and crisp fall morning. It’s nutty, slightly spiced, and comforting with a gentle apple flavor. I especially loved this blend because it’s subtle on the spice, sometimes when blends are over spiced I get headaches so this was a nice balance for me. I’m definitely making this blend a staple in my stash.

TTB 2022
The first steep was a bit nutty but this steeps twice and the second is a bit more apple-cinnamon. It is nice and warming, its a rainy cooler morning here in IL so a good time to try this tea. I might add this to a plum deluxe order if I didn’t have way too much tea already.
Thanks for adding it to the box, a good one!

Backlog from June 13th:

2022 Spring Tea Swap – Day 18
From Emilie!

It appears that Steepster is down this morning, so I’m typing my notes elsewhere until everything is back up and running. Fingers crossed that won’t take too long. Maybe this will remind Adagio that we’re still here.

This is a really nice apple cinnamon black tea. My favorite apple cinnamon tea was a cheap teabag I found once at Walmart and has since been discontinued. I haven’t yet found anything to rival it, but I won’t give up my search. This is tasty, but not what I’m looking for.

It’s still so hot, but I am desperate for fall vibes. This didn’t quite scratch that itch.

I’ve generally been pretty underwhelmed by Plum Deluxe, and stopped purchasing after a disappointing advent a few years ago. Decided to try this anyway and still very much underwhelmed.

I’m not getting any apple whatsoever. Very mild buttery cinnamon. So weak and lacking in flavor. Looking at my old notes, apparently I’ve tried this before and had similar thoughts.

I wasn’t very impressed with their advent either… :(

This is definitely a warming, comforting tea! Was a free bag during a promotional deal if you ordered a certain amount, so I grabbed it while I could.

The first steep was too weak, so I steeped a bit longer. The apple is very light and this is fine ,not a surprise, but the cinnamon comes through if you steep longer. I added a tsp of their Honey Dust to sweeten, and then added in a slice of fresh lemon, which really brought together the fruitiness and fall feel. Also, since its winter, that feel as well ;)

I am wondering how they could blend with their Maple Blend, or some Pumpkin Spice Chai from Fusion teas. Hm. It would be a nice blender tea if you are inclined for that. I couldn’t imagine iced, did this one hot and comforting, but your mileage may vary.

I did not get the orange or the orange spice, although when adding lemon later it enhanced the citrus taste. I tried for a bit before adding the lemon, but mainly sensed cinnamon and warm black comfort tea.

This tea came as a free sample in two different Plum Deluxe orders, so I steeped them both up today. The flavor is pretty nice. Light spices on a mild black tea. A little bit sweet and desserty. Not too appley, which I was fine with since I don’t love apple spice teas. I enjoyed this one much more than anticipated! Its rebrew randomly tasted like snickerdoodles! I’m not sure why I ended up with stronger spices in the resteep!
