From Pique Tea

What’s Fermented Pu’er Black Tea?

Probiotics in this tea increase the biodiversity of your gut microbiome, while black tea flavonols (prebiotics) supply nutrients to healthy bacteria. An optimal balance is created naturally, the way the universe intended.

Wild-harvested from 250-year-old tea trees living symbiotically in a primordial forest where life thrives unhindered. A natural cycle of life and death creates an environment teeming with biodiversity. The leaves of this ancient tea varietal are host to precious microbiota that ferment our Tea Crystals, turning them darker with time.

From a pristine region at the foothills of the Himalayas, we bring you humankind’s most ecological and primordial superfood.

Our Fermented Pu’er Black Tea is USDA Certified Organic and Triple Toxin-Screened for heavy metals, pesticides, and toxic mold. Cold Extraction Technology™ maximizes phytonutrient potential and absorption. No prep or brewing required.

Picked up a box of this back when we were in LA because it was just so outrageous to us that this company was able to charge just under $70USD for powdered/instant pu’erh…

There’s so much about the different marketing/wellness claims made on the product packaging that I just want to absolutely shred apart but I’m so tired in this moment and I think I want to make sure when I do actually pick apart why I think it’s so ridiculous it’s coming from a place where there’s more applied logic and not just a petty and frustrasted spot…

For now let it just suffice to say that the taste of the powdered pu’erh itself wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t good either. Mostly it was just very flat.

TeaEarleGreyHot

Wow, $70.00 !?!? Was it a one-pound box? I too find the health claims of some tea-sellers to be dubious at best, and sometimes just outrageous nonsense. Limit the pharmacology to caffeine and theophylline!

TeaEarleGreyHot

… and maybe GABA.

28 Single Servings (8 oz) of prepackaged powder…

Yikes, 8g powder per serving?! My opinion is that if it wasn’t to your liking, don’t waste your brain cells composing a thoughtful argument against the marketing claims. Just put it on the shelf or give it to someone who will appreciate it, and move on with your happy life!
