I’m trying to UfYH (look it up, beware the cursing) starting with my closet, and I’ve already been cleaning for 45 minutes and it’ll probably take at least another half hour. And then I’ll have a ton of clothes to put in my dresser instead of the floor in there. But oh well, gotta start somewhere. Already have 2 bags and 2 boxes of stuff to take to Goodwill.

I just drove back home too by the way, which was quite…odd. All of a sudden traffic stopped and I called my dad to see if the 511 website had the …511, as the phone call did nothing. He said it said animal in road. So immediately I’m like oh god I don’t want to see this. But finally I got past it and five cops were over with…a horse and a cow.

Sebastian the parakeet now chirps on his car rides which I guess is a good thing for entertaining himself for 2+ hours since we always hit traffic.

So, I’m too lazy for loose leaf right now and I pulled this from the sampler box. It’s your standard jasmine green. Really, there is nothing that remarkable about it, but it’s not terrible. It’s not like drinking perfume.

It seemed pretty light in flavor overall though.

A nice tea but I prefer straight green over a jasmine green. I think the cup that the cafe gave me was too big for this little tea bag though because it was a bit weak.

The aroma is very soothing. It did not taste like. I was drinking a flower. The tea was smooth and one cup got rid of an “excedrin level” headache!!!

This one is pretty straighforward. It’s Jasmine Green, what you see is what you get. Although both the green tea and jasmine are a little weak, it’s a pleasant enough cuppa. The jasmine is well-done and not perfumey. The tea base is a bog standard green bancha.

Do keep an eye on steeping times, this one turns bitter fast. The green tea is not the finest quality and oversteeping will turn it undrinkable.

Another tea from Madeline I let in my cupboard for an year or so. I had to find out, if it has got weird crayon taste or it was just her. Thank you anyway! At least a new tea bag in my collection, which I have been sorting yesterday and it is not done yet. And it won’t be.

Anyway, I have tried it and honestly, something was weird with this tea. It brewed strong green tea taste, very thick feeling. The jasmine was there, but not much present, rather geneal florality, athough based on the smell, it was clearly jasmine. I can notice that wax note if I was searching for it and certainly I had better jasmine greens. It was, even with the jasmine, weirdly thick and uncommon for jasmine tea which I usually associate with lighter taste.

It wasn’t my cup of tea. That heavy thick feeling is off-putting it for me.

Just got this from amazon. Hoping for a cheaper/easier-to-brew alternative to my favorite jasmine pearls.
Opening the bag, I got a very strong jasmine smell, which was promising. I was expecting to smell less jasmine. Right away, the tea started turning a deeper yellow than the pearls when I started pouring the water. After two minutes, it’s a strong, bright yellow color. The smell is weird, though. There’s some sort of chemically-ness or sharpness. It kind of reminds me of crayons, weirdly. Like, melted crayons. Maybe candle wax, kind of chemically and burnt. Weirdly heavy and not good. The tea itself is stronger and more bitter than the pearls – a little earthy/grassy. Overall, not an enjoyable experience. My beloved jasmine pearls would never do this to me. Definitely a sign I need to quit dilly-dallying and just order more pearls already!

Update: My girlfriend can’t smell the crayon thing I’m complaining about and says it just smells like green tea, so maybe it’s a personal thing.

What a bizarre experience — melted crayons? That sounds awful!

I think that anything bagged won’t fill the loose leaf version of anything. Sorry you have bad experience.

Not too perfumey, pretty natural smelling jasmine but there’s something about the green tea base I don’t think works well with the jasmine. Maybe it’s too earthy and dark tasting. I think I like lighter, sweeter jasmine-scented greens. It seems like this tea has decent reviews so I’m just boiling it down to personal preference.

The aroma from the container is slightly floral, but not overwhelming. I can still smell the sweet, grassy scent of the green tea. The color of the brew is nice and golden. The jasmine scent is more present after steeping and can be noticed as you are nearing the cup to take a sip. I love that the jasmine doesn’t dominate this tea; it is perfectly scented. The sip starts with the jasmine then ends with the grassy dryness of the green tea. This is THE jasmine tea I want in my pantry.

I decided to try making the Jasmine green tea again. I had ordered the package from Amazon for the first time that I tried it in September, and I definitely did not want the rest of the tea to go to waste. Because I was not a huge fan of the very strong floral taste the first time that I tried it, I decided to make it a bit differently this time. I steeped the tea for less time, and also used less tea leaves. I have really been enjoying drinking my tea outside if the weather is nice, so I decided to take a stroll outside with this tea to appreciate nature. I think that being outside with the nice weather definitely helped me enjoy the Jasmine green tea better this time. I also think that I liked it better with steeping the tea for a shorter amount of time, because there was more of a bland taste without the strong flower flavor. If I make this tea in the future, I will definitely steep it for a shorter amount of time again.
