I had the opportunity to visit the My Cup of Tea shop on my recent trip to Memphis and thoroughly enjoyed my experience! The shop (housed in an old Victorian home) is utterly adorable, the tea is fresh and delicious, and the employees I talked to testified that this company is doing good work in the Orange Mound community. I walked out with two different teas, plus their “Memphis Medley” sampler pack containing 7 Memphis-themed blends, including this one. I wasn’t expecting it to be a favorite, but it’s actually one of the best blueberry-flavored teas I’ve tried! It’s a black tea (which was a nice surprise) and NO HIBISCUS (even better!) The blueberry flavoring layered over the black tea base is giving me the vibes of blueberry jam on toast…quite delicious! I may consider a full box of this one next time.

It was a delight! Highly recommended if you’re ever in the Memphis area.

I ordered this sampler recently too! I’m so glad to see other reviews for this company on Steepster. I’ve really enjoyed their teas so far and their customer service is amazing. A new favorite for me.

So fun that we both discovered them this year! Hopefully we can get them some well-deserved attention on Steepster. :)

Samurai Travelling Tea Box – Tea #43

I don’t want to jinx it, but it looks like Steepster is back to behaving normally! Hooray! I managed to keep mostly on top of tasting notes during The Great Steepster Freeze of 2020 but not completely – so I’ve got some catch up to do…

Thanks Shae for thinking of me and including this tea – I have no idea why, but based on name alone I was expecting a herbal tea with blueberries so I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was a blueberry black tea! I enjoyed it a lot, though the blueberry flavouring was definitely more artificial – like a blueberry candy, almost. Super jammy and sweet! If I did have my beloved Blueberry Jam from DT, this is 100% the kind of profile I would want a tin of on hand.

It was a good share!

I bet I’d like this one. When I was drinking mass quantities of coffee there for a bit, I kept going back to the odd Blueberry coffee that I’d found. I’ve been craving blueberries ever since.
