“I like this tea, but it musn’t be steeped too long or the light hints of the orange and vanilla become cloying.” Read full tasting note
The people of the Bassari tribe, one of the oldest native tribes of Senegal, live a reclusive life in the unspoilt nature of the hilly hinterland. Their rugged, thatched-roofed huts and colourful clothing are as much a part of their lives as are the rituals and ceremonial festivities at which a drink made of white hibiscus flowers and oranges is offered. Messmer Bassari Tea picks up on this tradition, combining the unique refreshing character of white hibiscus with the sweet-fruity flavour of orange and vanilla.
