Ordered dumplings a few nights ago and had this with my order – I chose to have it with fruit jellies instead of tapioca pearls but it would probably taste good either either. This is a non-milk based bubble tea, and I actually liked it a lot. I was worried because I didn’t know if the green tea would be stronger than the honey but this was very thick and honey dominant. Obviously quite sweet because of that and if you were wanting a green tea flavour I think you’d be largely disappointed – but for me that intense flavour of honey and honeycomb was delish!

I’m making dumplings tomorrow! What’s your favorite filling?

I’ve never made them myself, but my go to order is cabbage/corn/carrot/cilantro with peanut dipping sauce – reminds me a little bit of fresh rolls. In Montreal “Peanut Butter” dumplings are a thing that I have wanted to try ever since moving, but I can’t find a place that makes a vegetarian version – seems pork is the standard.

It’s been one of my quarantine hobbies. :) I’m still trying to get the dough right. And the pleating. A peanut butter sauce with dumplings sounds really good. Reminds me of Dan-Dan noodles with the pork and PB, but I think there’s vegetarian versions of that dish too.
