As part of my ongoing effort to rid my cupboard of things that i don’t enjoy drinking, this one i’m having a final cup of, before sending it “back” to my pregnant friend who pawned hers off on me. haha In this way she gets interest on the tea she was storing at my place and i get one less matcha in my cupboard :)

Terri HarpLady

When’s that baby due anyway?

Haha October….very soon. She’s started being able to tolerate the smell of tea again so I see this as an opportunity for me to get it out of my house! Since I won’t drink it :)

NaNoWriMo has made me kind of forget to do things like… eat, or sleep. I get so caught up in writing that I look up and it’s 8:30 and all I’ve had so far is a small bowl of cereal. Considering that I have low blood sugar and not eating in regular intervals makes me very ill, that is not a good combo! So I wander into the kitchen and think man, I want some hot chocolate. Okay it’s not dinner, but I need some sugar!

In college one of the dorm standbys was 1 cup milk + 1 spoonful nutella = the best hot chocolate ever. So I stood there whisking my concoction thinking that it would probably be good with some cinnamon, maybe a little nutmeg. Chai spices, yeah! And then it dawned on me: chai matcha. So yes, I am drinking Chai Matcha Nutella Hot Chocolate right now and it is the greatest thing ever. I think this would probably work with tons of flavors (berry nutella, caramel nutella, cheesecake nutella…) so if you have milk, matcha and nutella you should go do this RIGHT NOW. Well maybe not right now but try it, it’s fantastic.

Um, last week I had cookies and cream frozen yogurt with nutella and now I am really going to need to make this with my cookies and cream matcha!!!

Autistic Goblin

That sounds quite yummy :D

Need. Neeeeeed. I’m pretty creative with my random concoctions but I never would have thought of this. I am a Nutella addict, but I guess it wouldn’t have occurred to me that it would melt properly. So awesome, thank you for sharing!

I had this as a latte this morning and realized that I much prefer the pumpkin pie matcha :D

I’m hopeful that the pumpkin matcha i ordered will be delicious. As i drink more of the chai matcha i’m finding i like it less and less lol

Autistic Goblin

yeah it’s not what I think of when I think of Chai… I don’t get enough POW in my spices :D makes an okay latte though :D

You should combine them, Pumpkin Pie Chai!

Autistic Goblin

I’ve thought about it :D Last night I did combine it with Butiki Teas Premium Chai and that made it a lot better.

The smell from the envelope is intoxicating Cinnamon, ginger, cloves and other chai spices are perfectly blended in the most amazing ratio. I can’t get enough of this matcha. I just got my order and already I am planning what my next BIG order will be and for sure a BIG pouch of Chai Matcha will be in my shopping cart! But, don’t just take my word for how delicious this one is, head on over to Red Leaf Tea and pick up your own pouch. One piece of advice, the delicate flavoring is perfection and just go ahead and buy the large pouch…30g will not be enough:
As I sat at a high school football game last night, all I could think about was how delicious this matcha was…you see I had a quick cup before going to the game. And the minute I got home, I was preparing yet another cup. And then again this morning, I just had to have that Chai Matcha. It is the spices that have me on a binge. The ratio is spot on and I just ordered the delicate flavor level. Plenty of spice for me and did I mention the cinnamon, yes it has the most amazing cinnamon flavoring I have ever tasted in a tea. This one earns a permanent place in my tea cupboard that is quickly being taken over by some pretty decadent matchas from the Red Leaf Tea company.

Maybe this is stale but I’m not tasting/smelling chai at all – it’s more like hot milky drink, but I’m enjoying it. And if it comes with a caffeine boost: BONUS.

Made this in my usual vanilla Almond Milk. The flavor is really subtle so I think I may have not added enough to the cup. At any rate its a lovely morning wake up drink. And I’m having fun trying all the flavors sent to me by the gracious MissB in my mystery box. Now that I’m not getting up at 4am for work I should be able to actually document the things I drink again. It was nice to get out early but boy did those mornings hurt.
